Join us today as we learn about one of our ongoing projects with project engineer, Bradley Perkins, P.E. 👨🔬 The Spanish Fork Santaquin Pipeline - Santaquin Reach, is part of a much larger project, the Central Utah Project (CUP). The CUP is the largest and most complex water resources development project in the state of Utah. It moves water resources from the Colorado River basin in eastern Utah to the Wasatch Front. The project provides water for municipal and industrial use, hydroelectric power, fish and wildlife, conservation, and recreation. This portion of the project highlighted in the video delivers water from Strawberry Reservoir through the mountains and canyons to the residents and businesses of Santaquin City. Happy National Water Quality Month! Check out this behind-the-scenes video of our water quality team performing routine tests on the water we enjoy every day. Today’s test is a water alkalinity test. We run this particular test 200-300 times each year from various sites to ensure we deliver the highest quality water possible. Want to learn more about water quality? Upper Division states want to get credit for conserved Colorado River water. Said Utah Colorado River Commissioner Gene Shawcroft, "This water is essentially an insurance policy, if you will, that can be tracked and accounted for." #coloradoriver #utah #watermanagement #lakepowell Gene Shawcroft Amy Haas

Shannon Babb thank you for all your hard work and dedication in educating the public on the value of water.
Central Utah Water Conservancy District's education program ended on a high note with an outreach activity at the Pleasant Grove Library. The topic of the final event was Utah's Ancient Oceans, which gave me one last chance to rock one of my 'Miss Frizzle' dresses as we explored how water in Utah has changed over geologic time and processed trilobite fossils that patrons got to take home.
