  • We are proud to be in St. Louis this week for the 26th Annual Conference of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH)! This year's theme, "What does it mean to be human?", invites us to reconsider long-held notions and think critically about humanity in our evolving landscape. As we face the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence, this question becomes increasingly pertinent. Several of our esteemed faculty, staff, and students will be presenting their research at ASBH. We're excited to share our work, reconnect with colleagues, and engage in thought-provoking discussions. As proud sponsors of the conference, we invite you to explore our list of presenters and join us in this important dialogue. #ASBH2024 #Bioethics #CWRU

It's ASBH week! And we're thrilled to announce that Karmel Moraco (Kam), one of our MA students, has been awarded a highly competitive grant from the Cross-Institutional Undergraduate Sponsorship Program in Bioethics (CUSP). This prestigious award is funding Kam's first-ever attendance at the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities ASBH annual meeting taking place this week. While many of our faculty, staff, and students are regular attendees at this important conference, for Kam, this marks an exciting debut in the professional bioethics community. This timely opportunity provides Kam with invaluable professional development and networking experiences. Kam's thoughtfulness and dedication to the field make him an outstanding recipient of this award. We're confident this first-time experience will contribute significantly to his growth as a future bioethicist. Join us in congratulating Kam on this remarkable achievement! We're proud to have a strong CWRU presence at ASBH this week, with Kam joining many of our seasoned faculty, staff, and fellow students in representing our bioethics community. #Bioethics #HealthHumanities #StudentAchievement #ASBH2024 #CWRUBioethics

🎉 Congratulations to Jazmin Long, MSSA,MNO, President and CEO of Birthing Beautiful Communities, and her team, on a sold-out MiraCLE and 10th Anniversary celebration! We celebrated with colleagues Lynette Hammond Gerido and Marsha Michie (2024 Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative of Northern Ohio READI Themed Pilot Awardees) and Yvonne Oliver and Shareesah Bland (READI, Set, BRACE participants). Loved to see Dr. Heather Rice PhD, CPNP-PC, PMHS, Constance Hill-Johnson, and Alexandria Johnson Boone honored for their contributions to our community! 🤰🏾As a mom of three, so much of what was shared during Jazmin and Elaine Welteroth's fireside chat resonated with me. It's incredibly exciting to hear about both BBC's catalytic birth center (https://lnkd.in/gXk_w4Dv) and the work that Elaine is doing through birthFUND (https://lnkd.in/grgs7EkA), advocating and investing in midwifery care and the inclusion of birth workers in the birth experience. 🔗 Learn more about BBC and support their birthing center and services that are provided at no cost to clients at: https://lnkd.in/g4KcB2dz
