A consortium of companies with a mission to help increase the plastic recycling rate from 10% to 90%

About us

Cyclyx International is building a new plastics supply chain for difficult-to-recycle plastics. We are a consortium of companies with a mission to help increase the plastic recycling rate from 10% to 90%. Cyclyx is bridging the gap between waste collectors and recyclers by diverting plastic waste that would otherwise go to landfills or pollute the environment. Cyclyx is helping to expand the range of plastic waste that society recycles to include materials not commonly accepted by traditional recyclers due to contamination levels or the chemical complexity of the waste. Building on a database of post-use plastic chemical characterizations, Cyclyx uses its expertise in managing waste plastics' complicated chemistry to help its customers identify suitable feedstock for their needs. Cyclyx technologies and ingenuity is creating a pathway to recycling that has never existed before. Join the mission!

Today’s an exciting day for the plastic circular economy! ♻️ A final investment decision has been reached for our first Cyclyx Circularity Center (CCC) in collaboration with ExxonMobil and LyondellBasell. This unique facility will have the capacity to process hard-to-recycle plastic waste to produce 300 million pounds of plastic feedstock per year. “Cyclyx is proud to be an innovator and enabler for unlocking plastic’s potential,” said Joseph Vaillancourt, CEO of Cyclyx. The power behind our 10to90 all-plastic collection programs originates in our Cyclyx Circularity Lab (CCL), located in Portsmouth, NH. We test hundreds of plastic waste samples every year to continuously grow the Cyclyx database with new analysis information and insights. This means not only looking at plastic differently, but also making sure we look at all different types of plastic, including the following: -food packaging -plastic hangers -artificial turf -automotive plastic waste -medical waste, such as personal protective equipment (PPE) -nautical ropes Our mission at the CCL is clear—to learn all we can about the various types of plastic waste and use that knowledge to create unique #CyclyxSolutions. These solutions enable more recyclability and circularity, and we're excited to share this journey with you all. Follow us on our social media channels so you can receive all the updates. Does your organization have plastic waste materials that need a Cyclyx Solution to help increase its recyclability? Cyclyx, with its Consortium of partners, is building the infrastructure and relationships needed to carry out our 10to90 mission. Our Business Development (BD) group, which focuses on cultivating partnerships to advance the circular economy, powers this effort towards sustainability. The BD team works closely with our Sourcing, Brokerage, New Market Development, and Marketing teams to ensure that Cyclyx's offerings align with market needs and are applicable across the plastic value chain. Their efforts are instrumental in driving and fostering long-term success for Cyclyx as we build the necessary infrastructure for scale. Our Business Development team's purposeful inclusion of industry leaders from various sectors (including consumer brands, manufacturers, recyclers, and logistical organizations) and communities (including municipalities, military institutions, and academic settings) committed to increasing recyclability make Cyclyx unique from any other venture. We invite everyone to the table to discuss solutions and better manage plastic waste! To start a conversation with the Business Development group about how you can implement #CyclyxSolutions in your community or company, email us at info@10to90.com.

Celebrate National Clean Up Day with us! Whether you organize a community-wide cleanup event to protect an outdoor space or perform solo acts of cleaning up the spaces nearby, every effort combined will help create a more sustainable future. We encourage Houstonians participating in a cleanup to bag plastic waste separately and bring it to a neighborhood depository for inclusion in our #10to90 all-plastic collection and landfill-diversion program. Let us introduce you to Stephanie Doyle, the copywriter and content creator for Cyclyx! As part of our ongoing series, where we introduce Cyclyx employees to share what motivates them to work in this industry and what piece of plastic sparks their passion for our mission, we are getting to know their plastic why. Stephanie has spent her life in a coastal community and has often been troubled when seeing broken plastic beach toys discarded in the trash. As a mother, her son’s plastic shovels, rakes, and sand molds—when they reached end of life—left her perplexed about how to repurpose them or dispose of them responsibly. Upon joining Cyclyx, she happily learned about what is possible for all plastic waste. Now, when her child’s plastic sand toys have reached their expiration, she knows she can bring them to a 10to90 drop-off location and place them on a recycling pathway. That is her plastic reason for the work we all do here at Cyclyx. Want to empower your residents to find their plastic why? Contact Cyclyx at info@10to90.com to learn more about how you can become a #10To90City and bring a landfill-diversion program to your community.

We are proud to offer the first-ever #10To90 all-plastic collection program to City of Houston residents with Bag It & Bring It! We spend a lot of time educating the community about what all-plastic means and how it's now possible for them to drop off more plastic waste than ever before—including chip bags, plastic packaging foam, and even straws. We also want to pause and remind our Bag It & Bring It drop-off visitors about what is not accepted. This is for the safety of our employees and partners handling the plastic waste material and for the well-being of equipment and processes. When our all-plastic waste stream is contaminated with the presence of alternate materials—chemicals, medical waste that may include sharps, and electronic waste, such as extension cords or items with metal or batteries —they can disrupt and impair our equipment. As a helpful reference, you can always visit the Bag It & Bring It guidance page on the COH website: https://lnkd.in/eVxpVu4c For further reading, here is an article from The Association of Plastic Recyclers that further explains some of the nuisances non-plastic materials can cause for our collection efforts: https://lnkd.in/e-MA-Rgg Thank you to Houstonians for your continued support and engagement in our 10to90 mission!

September marks the one-month anniversary of our newest #10to90 location at the Clear Lake/Ellington Airport Recycling Center! This brings our total all-plastic collection sites to nine in the City of Houston. As we prepare to launch the first Cyclyx Circularity Center (CCC1) in mid-2025 in Houston, the plastic waste collected from our Bag It & Bring It programs is being baled and stored. These programs are pivotal to our operations, as the material we collect will be immediately sorted, processed, and placed on a recycling pathway once the CCC1 is operational. You can learn more about the CCC1 will make possible for your organization’s plastic waste by contacting info@10to90.com.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, less than 10% of plastic is recycled today. That’s why we've created our 10to90 mission brand to increase plastic’s recyclability from 10% to 90%! As we actively strive towards achieving our mission, Cyclyx values and commits to full transparency across all aspects of our operations. This includes our honest communications regarding the collection and storage of plastic waste materials from our Bag It & Bring It program in the City of Houston. The first-of-its-kind facility, our Cyclyx Circularity Center (CCC1) in Houston will be scaled to meet the sustainability demands of our customers—mechanical and advanced recycling outlets. The aggregation and storage of this material will ensure we have ample feed once CCC1 is completed and operational in mid-2025. Currently, the residential material is being baled and stored at an open-air facility owned by a waste and recycling partner of Cyclyx. Had this material not been collected and inventoried, it would have ended up in landfills—where it would have been impossible to recover. Once CCC1 starts up, we will process, custom compound, and place the plastic waste on a recycling pathway. We remain steadfast in our commitment to transparency so that we may continue building a long-term relationship with the residents of Houston. We thank all Houstonians who have shown eagerness and a high level of engagement in our 10to90 mission! You can stay informed on Cyclyx happenings by visiting our online news desk at https://lnkd.in/gphEguFt.
