🏗️ Last week, our EHS Team hosted their 4th Annual Contractor Safety Summit at our Dallas Headquarters. The Summit brings together safety representatives from contractors who are close partners of ours to ensure we are held to the highest safety standards. In attendance were safety representatives from our Construction General Contractors as well as from our Facility Management Company, JLL. A highlight of the summit this year, was the presentation of our Safety Excellence Award. This recognition celebrates the exceptional safety efforts of our general contractors in 2024. We were proud to present the award to Clayco for their exemplary performance. 🏆 Thank you to all who participated! Illuminating the Future: CyrusOne Breaks Ground in Aurora, the Midwest's City of Lights We're thrilled to announce the groundbreaking of our newest data center in Aurora, Illinois - the "City of Lights." Just as Aurora lit the way by pioneering an all-electric street light system, we're now adding our own brilliance to this storied city by expanding Chicagoland's digital infrastructure. Our second Aurora campus will feature two buildings spanning 446,000 square feet, delivering an initial IT capacity of 40 megawatts. This facility is designed to expand the digital future of Chicagoland - already the third-largest data center market in the nation. We were honored to have some of Illinois' brightest leaders join us: Governor JB Pritzker, Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, and ComEd President and CEO Gil C. Quiniones. Their presence reinforces how this project will further energize the region's tech landscape. This past weekend, Emma Fryer, Director of Public Policy, Europe, took the stage at the The Labour Party Conference for a panel on 'The Intelligent Environment: Building Sustainable Data Centres with Open UK'. 🚀 The session explored the critical role of data centers in the UK economy, following their recent re-classification as Critical National Infrastructure, discussing the challenges and opportunities in the sector, including energy consumption, planning, and the impact of AI on sustainable infrastructure. 🌱 Key takeaways from the session included: 🗝️The need for energy-efficient, sustainable data centers to meet growing digital demands. 🗝️AI's role in optimizing operations and driving innovation. 🗝️The importance of clear policy frameworks for future growth. 🗝️Open-source technology as a driver of collaboration and innovation.
