✨ An incredible week at NECSTouR headquarters in Brussels! ✨ On Monday, March 24th, we kicked off the D3HUB - EU Competence Centre to support data management in tourism destinations Cluster “Balance between residents and visitors”, diving into the challenge of balancing residents' and visitors' needs. The pilot phase will tackle key topics such as short-term rentals, resident perceptions, forecasting, and carrying capacity calculations. NECSTouR co-leads this cluster with our colleagues from Toerisme Vlaanderen - VISITFLANDERS The momentum continued on Tuesday, March 25th, with the ToTLab Freemium event "European Tourism Data Space: All You Need to Know." This insightful session explored the ETDS's essential concepts and how DMOs and tourism SMEs can harness its potential. 💪 As part of the Sustainable EU Tourism workshop series, NECSTouR’s Strategy Director, Cristina Nuñez, joined the discussion at the "Widening Horizons and Diversifying Tourism for a Sustainable Tomorrow" session on Tuesday afternoon. The session tackled key topics such as tourism diversification, accessibility, and seasonality, crucial elements for a resilient and sustainable tourism sector. 🔝 The event featured an insightful keynote by Andreea Staicu, Head of Unit at DG MOVE, followed by a panel showcasing best practices from Malta, Latvia, Greece, Austria, and Slovenia. The session concluded with a thought-provoking expert discussion between Cristina Nuñez and Tim Fairhurst, moderated by Dolores Ordoñez, on shaping a more diverse and sustainable tourism future.
