Did you know that our deposit could supply enough gold to meet 50% of the world’s annual demand for dentistry? Gold has been a trusted material in dentistry for centuries, prized for its durability and biocompatibility. From strong, long-lasting crowns to reliable fillings, gold remains a go-to for many dental applications. If our mine receives planning approval, it will produce copper and silver plus 3.5 million ounces of gold over its 20-25-year lifespan—helping meet demand for dentistry, technology and more of the items we use in everyday life. #NeedForMinerals #ModernMining #Gold #ModernLife #Dentistry #DidYouKnow

Dalradian's plans to develop one of the world’s top multi-metal underground mines will create 1,000 jobs and a broad range of supply chain opportunities for local businesses. Each step in that plan is built on respect for people and the environment. Curraghinalt lies within the Sperrin Mountains, which were formed approximately 440-500 million years ago when ancient landmasses closed in on each other, swallowing up an ocean. This collision forced up the mountains of Scandinavia, Scotland and Ireland. In the Sperrins, a complex interplay of rock, water and pressure caused gold, silver, copper and other minerals to condense out of the rock. The unique opportunity those resources represent has been waiting ever since. People have made some efforts to access these minerals in the past. Small particles of Sperrins gold were found in the Moyola River as early as 1652. There were some small lead mines in the area in the early 1900s. The nature of the Curraghinalt deposit would have made it difficult for early prospectors to access. The veins of gold that run through the rock do not contain large nuggets. Instead, microscopic particles of the precious metal are mixed into pyrite (iron sulphide or “fools gold”). That might sound unpromising, but our testing reveals an unusually rich deposit of gold, silver and copper. In addition, the project also contains the UK critical minerals Tellurium, Antimony, Bismuth, Molybdenum and Cobalt. Learn more about the Public Inquiry Process 👇 In 2017, we submitted a planning application to build a modern, multi-metal mine in Tyrone to Northern Ireland’s Department for Infrastructure (DfI). Since then, the application has advanced through a rigorous review process, including over 100 meetings with regulators and statutory consultees, along with multiple public consultation events, ensuring our project meets the highest standards and addresses the perspectives of all stakeholders. In 2021, DfI referred the application to the Planning Appeals Commission to hold an independent public local inquiry, scheduled for 13th January 2025. Following this, a decision will be made on the application. Read more in our blog ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eAJusVH2

Building a modern mine allows us to incorporate the latest world-class technology, making our operations more efficient and environmentally responsible. One of the key innovations we’re implementing is ore sorting. This technique saves energy by reducing the amount of ore that needs processing and minimizing the rock transported and stored above ground. Underground, after extracting the narrow veins of gold, copper, silver and critical minerals such as tellurium, the next step is to extract these valuable minerals from the rock. A core principle of our project is to retain or return as much barren rock underground as possible. This not only strengthens the mine's structure but also reduces energy use and minimizes surface storage—an excellent environmental practice. Underground, we use a 'crusher' to break the rock into smaller pieces, roughly the size of tennis balls. From there, a specialized ore sorter equipped with sensors identifies rocks containing gold, copper, silver and critical minerals such as tellurium. Only those will be sent for further processing, while the remaining rock stays underground. #ModernMining #Efficiency #SustainableMining #InnovationInMining #DalradianOpportunities #Technology

Dalradian recognise the importance of calculating and reducing our carbon emissions. That’s why, beginning in 2019 we implemented a carbon management plan to actively reduce carbon emissions. To date, we have been able to reduce our total carbon footprint by 75.4% from the 2019 baseline. This achievement and other measures such as tree planting in Northern Ireland have helped us secure Carbon Neutral Plus status for 2023, the fifth year running. Our commitment extends to building and operating Europe’s first carbon-neutral mine. In 2019, we revised our proposals to lower emissions at the future mine by 25%. This includes utilizing electric vehicles where possible, transporting ore and waste rock to the surface via conveyor belt, and using underground ore-sorting equipment to reduce the volume of rock transported to the surface. We continue to keep abreast with developments in alternative fuel sources and electric vehicles for mine operations. We are also in discussions with potential suppliers of materials such as cement, steel and explosives, which are responsible for the largest component of future mine emissions using current practices, to identify areas for improvement. Together we can proactively reduce carbon emissions and build sustainable practices into the entire supply chain. #CarbonNeutral #FutureProofing #Sustainability #ModernMining #NeedForMinerals #DalradianOpportunities #SupplyChain

How can mining support a vibrant community? Learn more ⬇️ As a company that plans to provide hundreds of jobs locally for decades to come, Dalradian wants to ensure that our local community benefits fully from our proposed underground gold-silver-copper mine. Benefits can come in many forms - career opportunities, well-paid jobs, new business for local firms or support for community projects. This is the legacy of modern mining. A case in point can be found just a 3½ hour drive from our project: the communities of Moyne and Templetouhy in Tipperary had a major zinc mine as a neighbour until 2015. As well as being environmentally responsible, modern mining also brings opportunities to build sustainable communities. Through local partnerships, mining can invest in the physical fabric of our villages and towns – enhancing the sporting, cultural and educational bonds that bring a community together. Lisheen mine closed in 2015 after 17 years of operation. During that time the mine provided jobs to 400 people and over 22m tonnes of ore was extracted. Over those years the company worked with a local community forum to discuss issues of common interest and shape how the mine would support the community by investing in a number of landmark projects. These initiatives have served the area for decades and have continued well after mining has finished. What's next if planning permission is received? If given the go-ahead, our project to build a world-class underground mine in Tyrone will move into the construction phase. The construction and operation of the mine marks one of the largest-ever private U.S. investments in Northern Ireland, delivering a substantial economic boost. Construction is projected to last 18-24 months, with an investment exceeding £100 million. Leveraging Tyrone's mining and quarrying equipment design and manufacturing expertise, we will source some processing equipment locally, alongside other goods and services. We anticipate a peak workforce of over 300 individuals on-site during this period. Additionally, our initial £15 million training program, aimed at facilitating local employment, will commence during construction and extend into our first year of operations. #ModernMining #Construction #SupplierOpportunities #Employment #NewIndustry #Tyrone #JobCreation #USInvestment

Discover the innovative mining technique Dalradian will use at its proposed Tyrone site ⬇️ All of Dalradian’s mining activity will take place underground, using a technique known as narrow-vein mining. This method targets the narrow seams of quartz rock—about 1 meter wide—that hold Curraghinalt’s copper, gold, and silver, along with UK critical minerals such as tellurium. The technique was already tested and proven effective during our test mining phase in advance of submitting our planning application. The goal is to carefully extract only these ore-bearing seams while leaving as much of the surrounding rock in place as possible. This approach minimizes the amount of mining and processing needed, reducing energy consumption. Narrow-vein mining is a highly mechanized process that uses advanced computer modelling to pinpoint the exact seams to extract and where to drill and place small, precise explosive charges. By mining from tunnels beneath the seams, gravity assists in the extraction process. After extraction, the ore-bearing rock will move to the processing stage, where the metals will be separated from the rock. Most of the extracted rock will be returned underground to backfill the spaces created by mining, further minimizing environmental impact #StagesOfModernMining #ModernMiningInTyrone #DalradianOpportunities #JobCreation #Sperrins #NeedForMinerals

Minerals are indispensable for modern life and demand for them has grown with their application in emerging renewable energy technologies to tackle climate change. To extract the gold, silver, copper and critical minerals such as tellurium responsibly, we have designed a best-practice, modern mine using the latest state-of-the-art techniques, as outlined in our planning application. Let's explore them👇 Mining and some processing will take place underground minimising the surface footprint of the site. As much non-ore-bearing rock will be retained or returned underground as possible. This is environmental good practice, uses less energy, strengthens the mine development, and reduces the amount of rock that is stored above ground. Waste rock unable to be returned underground will be stored in an engineered dry stack. This will be progressively reclaimed and planted during construction to reflect the local landscape. This method is acknowledged by the EU as the best available technique. Feel free to reach out to a member of our team if you have any questions surrounding our current or future operations. #ModernMining #EnviroTech #DalradianOpportunities #StateOfTheArt
