Meet our finalist, Luja 💧 Luja™ by Coloplast is a compact intermittent catheter (IC) with Micro-hole Zone Technology, designed to fully empty the bladder in one smooth flow, helping reduce the risk of Urinary tract infections (UTIs). It tackles common issues for users – 90% have to adjust their catheter, and UTIs are a big concern for both users and healthcare professionals 🚨 With over 50 micro-holes for women and 80 for men, Luja makes sure the bladder empties completely, no need to reposition. The project allows children to co-design their own “super power hands,” transforming their disabilities into sources of strength 🦹💥 Using creative tools, children design their prostheses, visualize them in Virtual Reality, and turn them into 3D-printed models with help from the bioengineers #AutoMedPrint 🧬 HandsUp also fosters meaningful conversations between children, parents, and professionals about their futures. Meet our Young Ideas finalist, EC 24/7 🚄 To tackle environmental challenges, we need to rethink our travel methods 💨 EC 24/7 by Peter van der Beek is a design proposal aimed at bringing back Danish night trains with connections to Central Europe 🛤️ This new train will operate day and night and is specifically designed for DSB's forthcoming fleet of electric long-distance trains. The goal is to offer a comfortable and affordable green alternative to air travel that is also financially sustainable for the operator.
