Data centers are significant contributors to Texas’ robust economy. DCC President Josh Levi and Dallas Regional Chamber President & CEO Dale Petroskey co-authored a column today in The Dallas Morning News, highlighting the many benefits data centers offer for local communities and workers in the Lone Star State, where 19 DCC members currently operate. “Data centers are more than just infrastructure. They are big job creators. Once operational, a data center may employ 100 or more workers and contractors with technical knowledge and skills across a variety of roles. According to a PricewaterhouseCoopers report, data centers supported more than 49,000 direct jobs across Texas in 2021. Texans also benefit from indirect jobs created by data centers in the business ecosystems they support. A 2023 report estimated that each job inside a large Texas data center supported 5.6 jobs elsewhere in Texas.” #datacenters #digitalinfrastructure #workforce #jobs #Texas #investment

The data center industry is a catalyst for economic development. Thank you Bryan Stewart of The Superior Group for this recent piece in The Columbus Dispatch outlining all the ways that data centers are a great source of investment for Ohio. "Taken as a whole, data centers are among the most consistent and valuable job creators our state has ever seen. They are also a magnet for attracting additional economic growth. Companies in every critical industry want to locate near a data center in order to benefit from faster data transfer and enhanced infrastructure. This proximity matters, and it will become even more important as AI technologies continue to advance." #economicdevelopment #workforce #datacenters #jobs #Ohio #investment #economicgrowth #digitalinfrastructure https://lnkd.in/dZ9w5gUa
Ohio is at an inflection point. We must improve energy grid for data centers.
