👩🔬Science Feature Friday👨🔬 Asthma is a common chronic respiratory condition worldwide, characterized by symptoms such as wheezing, chest tightness, and coughing due to airway inflammation and constriction. Researchers at Jagiellonian University Medical College in Poland evaluated the affect of pan-PDE inhibitors on airway inflammation. They leveraged the DSI Buxco nose-only inhalation tower for seamless control of aerosol generation and compound delivery in mouse models of allergic asthma. The results showed a reduction of airway inflammation, indicating pan-PDE inhibitors may hold promise as anti-asthmatic drug candidates.
