Employee Spotlight - Between the Lines At Davey, our teams are synonymous with hard hats and hard work! But each of our team members has their own unique life story, career journey, and Davey tale. You may see our fleet out driving or our people out walking the utility lines…so join us each month to get to know our people working Between the Lines Feature: Grace Turner I grew up in Northeast Ohio, not far from the #Davey headquarters. I attended The Ohio State University, where I participated in the Integrated Business & Engineering Honors Program along with a minor in Spanish. I spent a year interning at #DRG during college in 2020-2021 as we seemed to be busier than ever while most other companies were cutting back. My #intern experience was distinctly different from what I had heard about from many of my peers, which is what drew me back to DRG years later as a full time employee. From the beginning, I was given the freedom to be creative and take #ownership of my work. When I had ideas of how to better track project metrics or finances, I was more than welcome to give it a try - sometimes this led to failures and other times it led to big successes. I also had the opportunity to go to Mississippi to help with a storm response for Hurricane Zeta, which was an amazing experience. I saw people putting their own lives on pause to take care of others, which really made me love this company. Today, my work is mainly projecting and analyzing costs and hours. I came on full time right after a migration to the cloud based version of #SAP, so I decided I would become a resident expert on it for our group. I am learning so much more about this software and our operational finances than I ever thought I would need to know and I’m enjoying it. I feel like I get to solve puzzles every day. As a member of the Operations Support Team, I try to understand the perspective of our field employees and help them take accountability to know their finances so we can call out when things don’t look right. I am striving to use my talents to help them make good decisions. In my spare time, I enjoy competing in triathlons, windsurfing and spending time with my family. I recently got engaged and am having lots of fun planning our upcoming wedding and honeymoon.

Employee Spotlight - Between the Lines At Davey, our teams are synonymous with hard hats and hard work! But each of our team members have their own unique life story, career journey, and Davey tale. You may see our fleet out driving or our people out walking the utility lines…so join us each month to get to know our people working Between the Lines. Feature: Bob Mossing What’s your Davey + Life story? I have worked in the #fleet industry for 25 years with experience in both the private and public sector. In my first role, I was fortunate to be mentored by an experienced fleet professional who provided a great benchmark for success. I have focused on #safety my entire career and sustained one of the safest fleets in the industry at my previous employer. When it comes to a safe fleet, providing a safety culture driven by opportunities for training from the point of hire throughout employment is critical. Here at #Davey, I am partnering with multiple departments to develop a system. The system will automatically identify each driver’s risk level by bringing existing safety programs together - such as Telematics, "How’s My Driving" stickers, Motor Vehicle Record monitoring, and preventable crash reports - to provide holistic data. When each of these tools is integrated into one system then we can identify risk levels to then train appropriately. If a driver’s risk level increases we can take immediate, and consistent, action. The plan is to constantly improve the driver’s skills to reduce crashes and ensure the driver goes home in the same condition as he or she started their shift. Measuring risk is important because it provides insight to identify who is likely to have a preventable crash which can result in injury to them or others. We’ve already seen success by adjusting driver behavior through telematics and we hope to move the needle further by incorporating all the tools in the toolbox. I came on board with Davey Resource Group, Inc. because I was impressed with the priority on safety. I manage the Utility Asset Management fleet which has grown quickly and has a lot of unique needs. It has been great working with the team at the Richfield, Ohio office because everyone is nice, kind, and helpful. The #utility industry is a dangerous field, but the most dangerous part of our job is driving. I am happy to be working with Phil Moser here at DRG to improve our fleet safety. His training classes are an engaging and integral part of our safety culture. We have been friends for many years and co-host the podcast Fleet Safety Geeks which is in its third season. We have a global audience which has been a pleasant surprise for us. I met my wonderful wife while working in Michigan and we have been married for 16 years with two children. In my spare time I like to restore classic motorcycles. I have a 1973 Honda CB750 which has turned into more of a custom build instead of a restoration because it is getting difficult to find original parts.
