Our West Commercial Studio held an Egg Drop Challenge Wednesday, pitting four strong teams against each other. Each team was provided the same building materials and 50 minutes. It was a valiant effort, highlighted by some seriously creative thinking, but ultimately each team’s limited practical experience led to the demise of all the eggs. It is notable, however, that the winning egg made it to almost 14’ before succumbing to gravity. Those are some impressive bragging rights.

There is so much happening in the hospitality world right now. Cynthia Steinbrecher was recently a panelist at the Colorado Real Estate Journal's Hotel Summit & Expo, discussing emerging trends in design. Thanks to the other panelists: Tobias Strohe, Stephanie Gearhart, Bruce Wright, and moderator Brent Lloyd for sharing their thoughts on the future of the industry.

Ann H. Adams, American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) President, recently hosted their 2024 Summer Leadership Summit. The event, co-organized by the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH) was held in Denver for the first time and featured a platform of great speakers, lots of comradery, and fun.
This year’s Summer Leadership Summit (SLS) was one to remember! We look back fondly on the celebrations and humbling moments that remind us of why embracing opportunities to learn from each other and pausing to recognize our peers’ accomplishments make events like this that much more enjoyable. SLS was filled with important milestones and celebrations, including: 🎉 Welcoming the 2024 ACHA Fellows (Deborah Smith, Steve Templet AIA, FACHA, CHID, LEED AP, Marc Rowland, and Vince Avallone) 🎉 Recognizing the 2024 Rebecca Lewis Student Healthcare Competition Winners (Emily Drennen Hatch and Ryan VerMulm) 🎉 Selecting our annual SLS Referral Prize Draw Winners (Karen S. Freeman, AIA, ACHA, NCIDQ, LBBH, EDAC and Charles Griffin, FAIA, FACHA, EDAC) 🎉 Announcing our new 2025 BOR Members (Bryan Langlands FAIA FACHA, Akshay Sangolli AIA, ACHA, EDAC, LEED AP BD+C, and Molly M. Scanlon, PhD, FAIA, FACHA) And so much more! We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped plan the event (special shout-out to our co-host, AIA Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH)), the speakers who brought their insights, and the attendees who continue to inspire us to do this year after year. We hope to see you again in 2025! Stay tuned for an upcoming post on some of the amazing sessions and thought-provoking moments that showcased how Certificants are continuing to tackle some of healthcare design’s most pressing questions! #ACHA #HealthcareArchitecture #HealthcareArchitect #HealthcareDesign #HealthcareDesigner #Healthcare #HealthcareInnovation #HealthcareIndustry #Architecture #Architect #Design #SLS
