Delivering the value and promise of great design.

About us

DELIVERING THE VALUE AND PROMISE OF GREAT DESIGN It’s the idea that got us into business. And thirty five years later, it is the reason why our architects and interior designers continue to thrive today. Well-designed projects that are responsive to programs and sensitive to budget constraints make up our portfolio of healthcare, high tech, office, educational, mixed use, retail, industrial and warehouse clients. Our culture embodies collaboration, work-life balance and sustainability. We shape the built environment our children learn in, the LEED Certified buildings we work in and the institutions that keep our communities healthy. Public or private, delivering the highest service is our priority. On-budget. On-time. Since 1981.

MOA Friday Forum Highlight! Our team had the opportunity to visit New Vista High School in Boulder, currently under construction. Our Friday Forums keep everyone in the loop about ongoing projects, allowing us to share knowledge and insights gained directly from the site! During our tour, the design team delved into the project program, the design process, and the challenges we faced along the way. It’s a great chance to learn from real-world experiences and gather valuable lessons for future endeavors. While we primarily focus on MOA projects, we occasionally explore relevant projects from other firms, sparking inspiration and fresh ideas. Here’s to continuous learning and collaboration!

We are so proud to be recognized last week by our peers at the 2024 Design + Honor Award Ceremony! Much appreciation for our core MOA Team, Mary, Jordan Taylor, and Brian, who delivered this incredible building makeover for our client, Steelwave. What was a distressed manufacturing building for computer tapes is now a modernized activated space for life science lab tenants in the Denver/Boulder market. Focusing on tenant needs, the building offers a surplus of amenities including shared conference and training rooms, a fitness center, bike lockers, shower and changing rooms, exterior yoga studio and kitchen, a wine and coffee bar, along with collaborative hubs distributed throughout for occupants. Special thanks to our consultant team, Maxon Engineering, SA Miro, Kimley-Horn, Norris Design, AE Design, and EYRC Architects, for their tremendous support in delivering this amazing project.

A huge thank you to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Colorado for honoring us with the Design Award Honorable Mention for our Infinite Labs Project! "This renovation and remodel project is in Louisville, Colorado, and takes a typical industrial building and turns it into a vibrant life sciences campus. Office and lab suites, shared amenities, and biodiverse outdoor spaces emphasize sustainability and employee well-being. The adaptive reuse integrates natural elements, daylighting, and sensory experiences to create a lively, eco-friendly workplace from an unexpected starting point." Out of many, only 15 firms were recognized this year, and we are truly grateful for the recognition. At MOA, we’re committed to making a difference in people’s lives, our community, and our world through exceptional design. Here’s to continuing to deliver on that promise!

When she’s not working, you’ll find her channeling her energy into kickboxing—she’s been passionate about it for 7 years! In her free time, Sarah loves tackling DIY home projects and exploring new places through travel. We’re thrilled to welcome Sarah to the team and can’t wait for you to get to know her better. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome!

MOA Highlight! We recently celebrated the retirement of an incredible teammate, Luis, who has been a cornerstone of MOA for over a decade! Originally from Barbosa, Colombia, Luis's journey is nothing short of inspiring. After earning his architectural degree from Fundacion Universidad de America in Bogotá in 1981, Luis embarked on a successful career, founding his own consulting firm in 1996, where he designed hospitals and schools. His journey took a significant turn in 2000 when he and his family moved to Florida, navigating the challenges of relocating due to Colombia's political and economic climate. Luis's perseverance and passion led him to become one of the first foreign architects to receive NCARB certification through the Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA) program, a testament to his dedication and expertise. Thank you, Luis, for your remarkable contributions and for being an inspiring part of our MOA family. Wishing you all the best in your retirement!
