Founder & CEO at Day.ai | Reimagining CRM for the AI Age

"With Day.ai, we have seen a glimpse of the future." We are grateful for the discussion of Day.ai in this terrific, detailed piece from Sonya Huang and Pat Grady (linked below) that illustrates the strategic opportunities open to product builders who have embraced Generative AI natively from day one. The limits of ambition have been erased, at least along certain vectors. We started Day.ai with the core theses that truth (and growth) lie most fundamentally in the literal customer voice, and that by expressing that truth through data produces an unimaginably complete CRM ... automatically. Over our first year there have been moments of relief and validation that yes, this is possible. And there have been moments of exhilaration when we see how powerfully this data folds into itself, compounding its own value. Yes, contact and company data comes to life automatically from communication history, we knew we'd be able to do that. However the lightbulb moments truly surprise us; we suddenly realize things like, wait ... that email thread over there informs this deal stage definition right here, which in turn contextualizes a comment made in a meeting, which improves the reply to the original email thread. Wow. One of the hardest things about building in this new world is forgetting everything you know about a domain in order to find (on a good day) magical new solutions to age-old problems. We are thankful to be partnered with Sequoia Capital, and their relentless effort to push forward the limits of our understanding within our industry. https://lnkd.in/eQhE7uie

Co-founders Varun Anand (Clay) and Michael Pici (Day.ai) were chatting about early-stage user feedback -- they both love Slack but realized they used it in very different ways! So they're chatting about it with Reforge (October 1, 12PM EST) to discuss tactics including: ▶️ Identifying the "right" early users for feedback that drives product-market fit ▶️ Conducting reverse demos to accelerate user "A-HA!" moments ▶️ Leveraging Slack communities vs. Slack Connect for different product-channel-fit Perfect for founders, product leaders, and early startups reinventing products in paradigms (like Clay and Day!) Never once have I cared about pipelines, prospects, and opportunities like I have working with this tool. It’s the business AI I want. Intuitive, dynamic, timely, and reliable. Day.ai really is building something new, not just a #genai chatbot. Ground up, honest, and real AI.

We’ve been carefully designing an automatically-full CRM for your company by pulling from conversations in your emails, video meetings, and Slacks. https://lnkd.in/eHEix9dk Appreciate the mention Pat Grady

Founder & CEO at Day.ai | Reimagining CRM for the AI Age

Instead of growth metrics, we’re focused on the only milestone that matters for our startup: product quality. Here’s an example from a product I discovered recently, Cursor.sh: I spend all day every day in VS Code (and Slack, but that’s a story for another time). I never thought I would use another IDE. Then, one day I got a text that led me to close VS Code and probably never open it again. I texted three of my friends and they did the same. What happened? Cursor.sh hit the only milestone that matters: the product went from good to “insanely great” and people noticed. Why does insanely great matter? There are a number of distribution methods - paid aids, SEO, partner marketing. But there’s only one that is free and effectively infinite: word of mouth. Here’s what we’re doing at Day.ai to build hardcore, lay on the tracks, promoter word of mouth from the ground up: We decided we value it. 99.99% of companies put things that would get them there in the “later” bucket and focus on growth metrics instead. We’re committing, and making earning hardcore evangelists the goal from the very beginning. We’re avoiding wide betas. The number of people using something has no correlation to the quality of the product that comes through that beta. The things that matter in your beta are: 1) Choosing the right people who represent your ideal customer. 2) Those people being tightly involved and actually relying on what you’re building to get their work done. They need to have skin in the game. With the right north star and the right beta users, our whole team is aligned on what to do all day every day - we move fast and are confident in our decisions.   If we hear the same thing from 2 or 5 or 10 beta users, we make changes that day and put it in front of them while it’s still on their mind. If we do this well, growth will follow. ---- Edit: I have no relationship with Cursor whatsoever, thanks for the texts y'all <3
