This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming, to #Reno, Clément Villemont, PhD, Vice President of Knowledge Environment Development and Innovation Ecosystem at the Vallée de la Transition Énergétique, a Québec innovation hub active in three strategic sectors (battery, transport electrification and hydrogen). 🎇 This visit was closely coordinated with the excellent collaboration of Frederick Steinmann, who leads the important Nevada Lithium Batteries and Other EV Material Loop (Nevada Tech Hub), a statewide effort led by the University of Nevada, Reno.   The packed agenda allowed us to: 🔋 Foster a key connection between these two hubs and identify avenues of collaboration with the University of Nevada, Reno, regarding the supply chain challenges and the indigenous relations; 🔋 Engage with various local stakeholders, including organizations such as the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN), Northern Nevada Development Authority, and Nevada 95-80 Regional Development Authority;   🔋 Participate in a symposium on lithium batteries, critical minerals and the EV industry alongside our colleague Jean-Pascal Saucier, and representatives from the UNLV Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER), the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED), Nevada Mining Association, Nevada Battery Coalition, and the Building and Construction Trades Council of Northern Nevada. 🔋 Conduct a field visit to #Winnemucca, where the Quebec-based company Forage FTE Drilling recently established its USA headquarters. 🤝 Thanks to the dedication of true allies like Clément Villemont, PhD and Frederick Steinmann, and the warm welcome received, we are confident that this visit will deepen and diversify the excellent partnership between Québec and Nevada, who share several challenges and have complementary needs in a rapidly evolving sector.   #Innovation #EnergyTransition #Lithium #EV #Nevada
