  • One of the less talked about aspects of our jobs involves acousticians sailing the seas! 🌊 Our team has the incredible opportunity to conduct noise and vibration measurements on all sorts of vessels, ranging from tug boats and passenger vessels to exploration sailboats and even carbon-free shipping sailboats. Each project presents unique challenges, and as acoustic engineers, we often carry out the following: · Support naval architects when designing their boats, to avoid noise & vibration issues coming from the hull and propeller design itself · Adherence to specific noise limits 🚫🔊 · Assess the effectiveness of sound insulation between spaces 🔧 · Assess noise and vibration exposure levels for seafarers 👨✈️👩✈️ By working on a variety of vessels, we’ve gained valuable experience in ensuring compliance with regulations, while promoting a safe and comfortable environment on board. It’s a rewarding journey for our team, allowing us to support the well-being of both crew and passengers alike. #AcousticTesting #MarineAcoustics #NoiseControl #VibrationAnalysis #SoundInsulation #Seafaring #EngineeringExperience #GreenShipping #SustainableSailing

• This video on noise pollution from The New Yorker really captures why we’re passionate about addressing noise and the work we do.   When our CEO, Jean-Philippe Delhom, founded the company 30 years ago, his vision was to improve people’s lives by managing the acoustic challenges of the environments they live and work in.   Early in his career, he witnessed firsthand how poor sound environments in industrial facilities impacted workers' health—often with lasting effects. From heart disease and sleep issues to high blood pressure, hearing loss, migraines, and difficulty concentrating, noise was clearly impacting their health and well-being.    Sound may be invisible, but our bodies are highly sensitive to it. By managing noise, we protect our health, boost productivity, improve communication, and, overall, feel happier. Take a moment to listen—how does the noise around you make you feel?   👉 Check out the video in the link below! https://lnkd.in/d6igTPqs

  • 👋 Meet Joyme Garcia, who recently joined our team in #Dubai! Originally from the Philippines, Joyme has been based in Dubai for the past eight years and now plays a key role in supporting our operations in the Middle East. From managing administrative tasks to ensuring seamless coordination between our clients’ executive teams, our business development team, and our acoustic engineers, she helps maintain the smooth administrative flow of our projects in the region. For the past two weeks, Joyme had the chance to meet some of her colleagues in Vietnam, where she worked closely with her counterparts at the Ho Chi Minh City office, to get familiar with our team spirit! Outside of work, Joyme enjoys spending time with friends, and immersing herself in the world of manga and anime. 🎬📖 We're excited to have you on board, welcome to the team, Joyme! 😊

  • 💡 When early acoustic design is overlooked in educational facilities, spaces risk becoming distractions—not inspirations. Throughout our 30 years of experience as acousticians, we’ve seen firsthand how school noise issues can impact learning environments. This belief led us to support the @Dwight School Hanoi in Vietnam, supporting this new educational facility to address potential acoustic challenges before they became costly issues in the future. 🎯 Project Challenge: Our acousticians, collaborating closely with the project team, conducted initial acoustic measurements to characterize the spaces and identify potential sources of external noise impact on the school. This allowed us to recommend effective strategies to prevent outdoor noise intrusion and ensure a tranquil learning atmosphere. On the indoors, the focus was on minimizing disturbances between high-energy areas like dance studios and sports halls, and quieter more sensitive spaces like classrooms, to inspire creativity and enhance performance. The project team made a remarkable commitment to acoustic treatments—particularly managing reverberation time—to ensure speech intelligibility and a focused ambience in the learning spaces. Our mission extended to every part of the school. From theatres, libraries, and meeting rooms to offices, art spaces, swimming pools, and gyms, we tailored acoustic targets to meet the specific needs of each space. 🎵 Music areas – A highlight: Working in the music areas was especially rewarding. For performing arts spaces, we focused on geometry, recommending slanted walls to reduce echoes and enhance sound clarity. For music rooms, layouts with non-parallel walls were carefully designed to prevent unwanted floating echoes. Starting with geometry, rather than jumping directly to material selection, allowed us to address the root causes of acoustic issues. This approach ensured that the spaces were inherently designed for optimal sound quality, creating a strong foundation that could be fine-tuned with materials—without compromising the architectural vision. Through this proactive approach, Dwight School Hanoi now features learning spaces that achieve their philosophy: “Igniting the spark of genius in every child”, and we are glad to be part of the team that helped deliver this goal to every student. ✨ 👏 Special thanks to Turner Construction Company, dwp | design worldwide partnership, and Carlos Zapata Studio for their trust and dedication to the project's acoustic quality. Their attention to detail, responsiveness to our feedback, and commitment to continuous improvement were remarkable.
