Events like these inspire us, helping us explore new ideas for designing comfortable, high-performance spaces. 🔊 Managing Sound in Educational Projects 🚸🏀 From lively student gatherings in the main corridors to serene music lessons, each space at CBD School in Dongguan, #China, required thoughtful sound management, precise acoustic calculations, and well-defined targets. Imagine the energy of a basketball court that doubles as an event space, or a bustling canteen where over 2,000 students share meals daily. Our challenge? Ensuring every environment remains welcoming, comfortable, and acoustically optimized—no matter the activity.    👉 Here’s how we tackled key acoustic challenges: • Reverberation control in classrooms, music, and dance classrooms for clear and immersive sound  • Speech intelligibility in the auditorium and the indoor basketball court, especially during events while using AV systems   • Noise management in the main corridors and canteen for seamless communication  • Façade insulation to minimize external noise intrusion from both playgrounds and road traffic into nearby classrooms    We believe that a well-designed space does more than house its occupants—it shapes their #experience. That belief guided our collaboration with AIA Life Designers on this project. This 112,587m² public school isn’t just about classrooms. It’s a hub for growth and discovery, featuring playgrounds, basketball courts, a swimming pool, and an auditorium—each space crafted to foster community and creativity. 💡 Our goal? To make sure every corner of this school feels as vibrant and engaging as the activities it hosts, without the distractions of unwanted noise. By working closely with the design team, we seamlessly advised on the integration of proper #acousticsolutions into the school’s design. Last week, Delhom Acoustics had the opportunity to contribute to the Zak World of Façades event in #Jeddah, where our Middle East Managing Director, Loïs Delhom, shared insights on #façade acoustics and how to effectively manage noise challenges in Saudi Arabia's evolving landscape.
