Is your brand missing out on 80% of its online visual presence? Only 20% of images featuring your brand’s products or logos are tagged. That means your brand is effectively blind to the other 80%. Ditto Labs was created to fix that. With an AI-based way to search images. But a new search standard called for a new way to create meaning from that visual content. That’s where Delve stepped in. We built a system that helps companies see the business impact of their Ditto search results. Take a closer look at our digital design for Ditto: https://hubs.la/Q02RmYpW0 –  Hello. How do you make a complex device (feel) simple? Reduce the number of steps the user must take to operate it. Build all the complexity and sophistication into the device itself. Yes, this will make development more challenging for your team. The results will be worth it. Our design for the Bruvelo connected coffee maker is a good example. Core77 called it “quite possibly the most high-tech consumer level coffeemaker ever." There’s practically a whole computer inside this coffee maker. But the interface? Simple. Intuitive. It hides all that complexity from the groggy, early-morning user. All the moving parts? Invisible. The interface guides you effortlessly through the brewing process, straight to a perfect cup of coffee. How do you help families recognize when they need support caring for aging loved ones? We helped Homethrive redefine its messaging and digital experience to empower caregivers—and accelerate growth. Homethrive is a virtual care service that helps people age in-home comfortably and safely, while easing the burden on their caregivers. After a successful pilot, the new business needed to accelerate its growth, so they came to Delve for help. Together, Delve and Homethrive developed messaging and a digital experience that helps families: ⚙️ Recognize the amount of work they were doing on behalf of their older relatives ⚙️ Gave them permission to ask for help. ⚙️ Understand exactly how Homethrive's service differs from other home care services. The new brand and website boosted Homethrive’s success with families and employers. For the first time after launch, the company began enrolling organic leads who found, evaluated, and purchased the service on their own. Ever tried to pinch, zoom, or swipe on a touchscreen, only to realize it doesn’t work like your smartphone? Same here. We've all come to expect every device to function like our favorite smartphones and tablets. When designing interfaces, interaction designers can often replicate the “mobile” patterns users are familiar with by applying several universal design principles that work across all mobile devices. Designing home healthcare? No one understands your users' needs better than the users themselves–so bring them directly into your design process. Co-creation with home users is crucial if you want to design user-friendly, safe, and effective solutions for untrained, lay users. When we were designing a line of safety syringes, we observed closely for hours as home users with various limitations used our prototypes. We saw how they managed throughout the injection cycle. We saw them struggle to use the syringes, sometimes in unexpected ways. For example, in the bottom right of the image above, you can see how one user with extremely long fingernails struggled to operate a syringe. It's an ordinary reality, but without in-home user research, we would never have thought to add “ability to operate the device with long fingernails" to our product specifications. Delve deeper. The world is better when we design products with age awareness in mind. As we age, many of us will face challenges typical of getting older: health issues, reduced mobility, and social isolation. Fortunately, technology can do much to address these challenges. As creators of medical devices and wellness solutions, it's up to us to leverage the right tech and design with age awareness in mind. Is your user research leading you in the wrong direction? At Delve, we’re passionate advocates for user research and the critical role it plays in product design.  But not all research is equal. And, if the research itself is not designed correctly, it can lead to mistakes. ✔️ Designers rely on the user feedback we collect to help develop successful products. ✔️ User research can reveal problems that products don’t currently solve. ✔️ User research can also help designers select a better direction when there are two or three concepts to choose from. ❌ But user feedback can sometimes be biased, which skews results and leads designers down the wrong path. Explore one of the most common types of user bias and how to prevent it from distorting your user research: https://hubs.ly/Q02Q6yXb0 –  Hello. We're Delve, a product innovation firm. Big kudos to our friends at L'Oreal and Stryker! This year's IDEA award winners include two groundbreaking products we love: The Lancome HAPTA and the Stryker Xpedition Powered Stair Chair. 🏆🏆🏆 HAPTA is transforming beauty routines for individuals with limited mobility, empowering them to apply makeup with ease and confidence. Meanwhile, the Xpedition chair is revolutionizing patient transport, making it safer and easier for first responders to navigate stairs with the push of a button. Both products exemplify user-centered design, functional innovation, and a commitment to enhancing accessibility and safety in their respective fields, making everyday tasks easier and safer for those who need it most. Congratulations to the design and engineering teams behind these innovative products!
