Our leadership team recently returned from an inspiring tour of some advanced European manufacturing facilities, and what we saw made us even more excited about what’s possible for Demeter’s clients. Beyond cutting-edge robotics and automation, these facilities showed us how modern design—sustainability, natural light, and open spaces—can directly impact the quality, speed, and flexibility we offer. We are exploring ways to deliver even faster timelines, more consistent quality, and cost-effective solutions by reimaging our manufacturing space. Beyond embracing technology and automation to enhance precision and customization, contemporary design allows us to better serve both our clients and the skilled people at Demeter who bring your designs to life. How do you see automation and technology transforming the quality of your own work? #SustainableDesign #Automation #PlanningfortheFuture #Millwork

The Demeter leadership team recently held our annual strategic planning session, diving into what the future of manufacturing means for our team, our clients, and our industry. Four key themes emerged:   • 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝: Lead times across the industry have risen over the past decade, but our clients always seek ways to reduce production timelines. We’re working to strike the right balance between custom quality and faster delivery.   • 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: The craft of millwork is evolving, and we’re proactively adapting to these changes. Skilled workers are in high demand, and new generations bring different skills. We’re focused on combining traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to maintain high quality while improving production.   • 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭: With construction costs rising, we’re exploring ways to streamline our processes and keep project costs in check without compromising quality. • 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: As energy costs rise and more clients focus on sustainability, we are deeply committed to finding eco-friendly ways to operate. We believe our clients deserve partners who emphasize sustainability at every step of the supply chain, and we’re proud to be leading the way in this area. The manufacturing industry is at a crossroads. We’ve chosen to lean into the future with a clear action plan to enhance production and quality. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫? We value your input and would appreciate your thoughts on how we can better serve your needs.

When working with hospitality clients, we focus on elevating every detail to enhance the ambiance of their space. Our recent project at Grillroom Chop House & Wine Bar in Chicago's theatre district included custom millwork for their dining area and restrooms. We crafted a stunning back bar with curving radius shelving, complemented by LED-lit niches that create an inviting atmosphere. Every piece was designed to seamlessly integrate into the space and enhance the overall customer experience.

We’re excited to share our work with Thomas Interiors and Development Solutions, Inc. on some custom pieces for a historic loft space in the West Loop. Our clients expect the highest level of craftsmanship and precision, and that’s exactly what we deliver. Instead of relying on standard templates, we go the extra mile by scanning the space and creating custom 3D models for flawless accuracy. Swipe to see just one glimpse into how we break down this beautiful oak staircase—handrails, treads, risers, slat wall, and panels beneath the stairs—to ensure seamless production and installation.

We love Ethos Training Systems' mission, “anything is possible with a plan and the will to work hard.” We certainly saw the results of this “ethos” in our latest collaboration with BOX Studios and Quincy Construction & Development. The Demeter team provided millwork throughout Ethos’ space, from unique wood and metal pieces in the reception area to a large wooden display wall that acts as a whiteboard to unique pieces for their cafe. Our team enjoyed helping craft a space that emphasizes community and hard work.
