Yesterday, Karen Bobadilla, a De Novo Immigration attorney, was featured on a Pioneers of Change panel for Hispanic Heritage Month at the John J. Moakley Federal Court House. She shared her experience as a Latina in law and how her identity serves as one of her greatest assets. Karen and all of her incredible work are an inspiration to us all.

Thank you WilmerHale for your support with our clinic!
A team of WilmerHale lawyers recently launched a new #ProBono clinic with the De Novo Center for Justice and Healing to provide free legal representation to low-income tenants facing eviction proceedings in the Somerville District Court. Senior associate Gary Howell-Walton is a volunteer nonprofit board member with De Novo. “We are pleased to support De Novo’s efforts to prevent homelessness and displacement by helping the most vulnerable residents of Somerville to avoid eviction, enforce their legal rights as tenants, and maintain housing stability,” said Howell-Walton.

April 1st marks the first day of Volunteer Appreciation Month. Here at De Novo, our volunteers are at the core of all we do. For the past 50 years, we have relied on the generous, donated services of our community to support our legal, counseling, and administrative units. In this past year, our volunteers gave over 270 continuous days (over 9 continuous months!), making them a truly integral part of what we do. To all of our Volunteers: Thank you! Your generosity means the world to us, and we couldn't do this without you. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our website (https://lnkd.in/ez8bQPRd) to learn more!
