Invent For the Planet! 🌎 Congratulations David Torck, Master of Science in Engineering Technology student, and the interdisciplinary team of Gnome Energy, who took the "Most Feasible" Award at this year's Invent for the Planet event! Pictured left to right, members are: Abdullah Elsheikh - CHEM David Torck - MSET Harish Patibanda - ECEN Alex Gilliland - MEEN Anjali Patel - MEEN Parvathi Menon - AERO ❓Challenge: Developing Lower Carbon Solutions for the Energy Sector ✅ Solution: Gnome Energy developed a simple modular system that stagnates the ever-growing dependency on the US power grid. Their system utilizes a power system segmented into power generation, power management, and data management. By supplementing hybrid renewable energy solutions tied to the power grid within existing infrastructure zones, the need for fossil fuel energy drops. Additionally, through the data management tool surveying each site, a better understanding of how modern structures affect the environment from which we derive our energy. ❗️"Fossil fuels are like credit card debt, you can't start paying back what you've lost until you stop running up the tab," says the team.
