This past Wednesday, October 16th, I had the incredible opportunity to plan and manage the Developing Men of Color (DMC) General Body Meeting, in partnership with Virginia Credit Union (VACU). The event brought together over 200 people, and I was able to personally connect with CEOs and executives from VACU. It was a rewarding experience to take full responsibility for the event and create meaningful relationships with top leaders. I am very grateful for this opportunity and excited to build on these connections and leadership skills for future endeavors! #leadership #networking #DMC #VCU #VACU

I had the pleasure of meeting Kendall Liverpool at the Developing Men of Color’s LinkedIn workshop, where he approached me for advice on building his professional profile and image. Kendall is a freshman at VCU, currently enrolled in the Arts Foundation program. He has extensive experience in screenwriting, film, and photography. His talent and passion for his work are truly impressive, and he is eager to excel in his field. If you have a moment, I encourage you to take a look at the prologue of his written piece, "The Ballad of a Senior Hawkeye"!

Student of Art Foundation Program | Experience with Photography, Videography, and Film | Aspiring Author and Screenwriter

After many months of planning, writing/rewriting, and the other logistics of the creative process, I have officially begun writing "The Ballad of a Senior Hawkeye." As of today, the prologue and chapter 1 have finished their first draft revisions. Currently, there are thirty-six chapters planned, not including the prologue and epilogue. However, that is not a concrete number as much of writing is rewriting and looking over to see what creates a better story. This could very well include adding or deleting chapter depending on their importance to the narrative. This story takes much of its inspiration from the Greek and Shakespearean tragedy format. Following that trend, the prologue is a peak to the end of the story from the perspective of a different character. I hope you enjoy reading this and I cannot wait to see what new experiences writing this story will bring me. "There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it." - Alfred Hitchcock
