You've been drinking months-old coffee, but Devoción is changing that. Roasting provides only half of coffee’s flavor, while mere freshness of the beans does the rest of the work. And yet, most coffee beans sit around for months, losing flavor every day. That’s why the Devoción team does everything short of picking the cherry, and does it faster than anyone else — we hand-select our 1,000+ farm partners, dry-mill at our Bogotá facility, control the export process, and roast in Brooklyn.

Our commitment to equality in the Colombian countryside ☕️ For Devoción, recognizing and strengthening the work of female coffee growers is a fundamental pillar of our sustainability strategy. Every year during International Women’s Month in March, we donate a percentage of the sales from our Women in Coffee series back to the producer. This year, we recognized the incredible work of Martha Obando, one of our longest-term coffee producing partners from Gachetá in Cundinamarca, Colombia. Martha is an entrepreneur and the leader of her local coffee association called Asofincas, where she helps her community learn more about growing high-quality coffee and, in turn, helping them earn more for the product they produce. NYC coffee crawl was the best! Here were my highlights: (In order of crawl) 🍦Vegan whipped cream! (thanks Bluestone Lane and Vita Coco for the vegan love!) 🍓The Blank Street team was INCREDIBLE and the strawberry and cream iced latte was chuggable. (Espresso was GREAT) ☕️ Devocion USA had a gorgeous cafe, fascinating coffees, and lovely merch. 💖 The most beautiful coffee I’ve had in a long while was at SEY Coffee. This post is long overdue (mostly because I have been away traveling nonstop for speaking engagements over the last 2 months), but I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to acknowledge Girl + Environment. In September, we had the honor of not only attending our first NY Climate Week, but also hosting a panel and networking event for womxn and non-binary people of color. This was one of very few events during Climate Week that was created by and for womxn of color. The response from our attendees was amazing and it was clear that there is a massive need to provide more safe spaces for us to convene and discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion in the climate sector.
