Last night in Washington, D.C., our Securities Practice Group Co-Chair, Roxana Pierce, hosted an engaging dinner with several esteemed Chief Investment Officers in attendance.   The evening featured insightful remarks from Arun Muralidhar, Co-Founder of Mcube Investment Technologies and Adjunct Professor of Finance at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, who spoke on AI and Institutional Asset Management©.   We also had the privilege of hearing from Gerald Alain P. Chen-Young, NPPFA- National Public Pension Fund Association CIO and Board Member, who shared his expertise on investment strategy, portfolio performance, and risk management – highlighting key considerations around asset allocation and manager selection.

Today, DiCello Levitt and Ben Crump Law, PLLC filed a lawsuit on behalf of George Clinton, the legendary Grammy Award-winning artist, against Armen Boladian and several music companies. The complaint details multiple allegations against the defendants, including fraud, copyright infringement, and breach of fiduciary duty. “I’m fighting for my life’s work and to ensure future generations of artists are treated fairly. Last week, Amy Keller, CIPP/US, chair of our Privacy, Technology, and Cybersecurity Litigation Practice Group and managing partner of our Chicago office, presented on two panels during the Plaintiff-Side Litigation: Scholars and Practitioners in Dialogue symposium. Amy spoke about aggregate litigation and the potential impact the Supreme Court’s forthcoming decision in LabCorp v. Davis may have on class actions, and she led a discussion on research related to plaintiff-side litigation. We have filed a major lawsuit against several global hair dye manufacturers, including L’Oreal, Henkel, Wella, and Clairol, on behalf of Ms. Debra Matarazzo, a former professional hairstylist, who alleges prolonged use of defendants’ products led to a devastating bladder cancer diagnosis. As we detail in the complaint, defendants engaged in dangerous product design and misleading marketing and failed to warn customers about the heightened risk of bladder cancer associated with their hair dye products. "We are dedicated to holding these companies accountable for their actions and getting justice for our client who had to endure grueling chemotherapy and surgery to treat her bladder cancer," said Partner Diandra "Fu" Debrosse, co-chair of our Mass Tort Litigation Practice Group. "Ms. Matarazzo is only the first of many who are likely to come forward who sadly have suffered from similar diagnoses and harm.
