An important heads-up: A dangerous piece of malware called CoreWarrior is attacking Windows machines, and it’s causing major trouble. Malware is harmful software designed to sneak into your system and steal information or damage your files. It can get in through phishing emails (those fake emails pretending to be legit), infected downloads, or weaknesses in your security systems. CoreWarrior is especially scary, because it can quickly make hundreds of copies of itself and spread across your entire system. And it actively tries to avoid being caught by your security tools. What can you do to keep your business safe from malware like CoreWarrior? Make sure your security software is up to date, and teach your team how to spot suspicious emails or downloads. If you need more advice on keeping your system secure, my team can help. Get in touch. #Malware #Windows #CyberSecurity

Microsoft has recently teased some exciting updates to OneDrive for Windows 11, and I think you’re going to love them. As part of the revamp, Microsoft is focusing on improving things like user experience, file management, and collaboration. For businesses, one of the best updates will be the integration of OneDrive and Copilot – helping you to do things like create summaries of long documents and compare files (even if they’re in different formats). Another nice new feature is the introduction of custom folder colours, so you can organize your files better and spot important folders at a glance. You can also set expiration dates for shared files and easily find out who has access to them. Great for collaborating on short-term projects. Some of the new features will only be available to Enterprise and Education customers to start with, but they are a great sign of Microsoft’s commitment to improving OneDrive across the board. Which one of these features sounds most useful for your business? #Windows11 #OneDrive #BusinessProductivity

If you’ve ever felt like the scrolling direction on your mouse or touchpad in Windows 11 feels weird, you’re not the only one. The default setting to move your page up is to scroll up on the mouse wheel (or swipe down on the trackpad). But this feels unnatural to some people. Did you know that Windows 11 gives you the option to reverse the direction of scrolling, so it feels more natural for you? Like the way scrolling down on your phone or tablet moves the page down. With the latest Windows 11 update (24H2), Microsoft has made it easier to make this change directly through Settings. Just head to Bluetooth & Devices, go to the Mouse or Touchpad page, and adjust the scrolling direction to what feels right for you. If you’re using an older version of Windows 11, you might need to dive into the system registry to make this change – and I wouldn’t recommend doing that. Instead, just install the update so you can change things like this in a couple of clicks. It’s a simple thing to tweak, but it could really improve how you and your team use your Windows devices. Did you know about this feature already? #Windows11 #Scrolling #HowTo

Anyone else miss Classic Outlook? It was easy, reliable, and it had some great offline features. Well, today I bring good news: Microsoft is bringing some powerful offline features to the New Outlook for Windows, making it just as reliable as Classic Outlook. You used to be limited in what you could do with New Outlook without an internet connection. But updates due to roll out soon make it possible to access your emails, calendar events, and contacts without being online. Another big update, coming early next year, is the ability to choose how many days’ worth of emails and attachments you want to sync for offline use. I think these changes are going to be great for business owners – especially for those times when your connection drops or you’re travelling. What other features would you like to see in New Outlook? #NewOutlook #Windows #NewFeatures

If you've installed the 24H2 update for Windows 11, you may have noticed a mysterious 8.63GB cache appearing on your system that seems impossible to delete. Don’t worry – you haven’t really lost this much memory space. Microsoft has confirmed it’s just a Disk Cleanup reporting error, and the cache will have been cleared from your PC already. Microsoft is working on a fix, but for now, you can rest assured that your system isn’t being bogged down by unnecessary files (even if it looks like it is). The issue comes from a new feature in 24H2 that breaks updates into smaller chunks, which will make system updates easier to manage. This glitch is harmless, so don’t let it put you off updating to the newest version of Windows. It’s really important to keep your devices secure by keeping them up to date. If you're having any trouble or are unsure about installing the update, my team can run through things with you. Get in touch. Here’s a little reminder for you: Windows 10 is officially reaching the end of its lifecycle on October 14, 2025. That’s less than a year away now. After this date, Windows 10 won’t get any more support or security updates from Microsoft. So, what does this mean for your business? It’s time to start thinking about making the switch to Windows 11, if you haven’t already done it. Windows 11 comes with some great improvements, like faster performance, better security, and excellent multitasking features. It looks slicker, too, with a cleaner and more modern interface. It's completely free to upgrade to Windows 11 – but if your PCs are more than five years old, they might not be able to run it. This means you’d need to look at investing in new computers for your team. I know… you don’t always have the budget to buy brand new PCs. But you have options, and my team can help you work through them. It’s important to start looking at this now, as while there are some workarounds to get Windows 11 running on older systems, they’re not a long-term fix. If you're sticking with Windows 10 for a while longer, Microsoft offers an Extended Security Updates subscription program to keep you covered (though it's a paid option and it doesn’t come cheap). My advice? Start planning your move over to Windows 11 now. This way, you can keep your business secure and running smoothly, without any surprises come next October. Microsoft’s been leading the way in AI with its Copilot assistant for a while now. It’s already had a big impact on businesses by helping to automate tasks across popular apps like Word, Excel, and Teams. Now it looks like it could get even smarter – with a feature that’s like something out of a futuristic movie! A recent Microsoft patent reveals that the company might be building an update that lets Copilot create live images based on what you say during meetings and presentations. Imagine talking about a project in Teams and as you speak, Copilot creates real-time visuals that change based on your conversation. It could make it so much easier to explain complex ideas – and it could make meetings more engaging, especially if people on your team learn better with visual aids. While this feature hasn’t been released yet (and it’s possible that it might never be rolled out), it’s clear that Microsoft is continuing to push the boundaries of how AI can be used to help business owners communicate and collaborate. However you make use of AI in your business, it’s an exciting time to be using Copilot. What would you and your team like Copilot to take care of next? #Copilot #AI #Microsoft
