I love the opportunities that the DISCOVERY Children's Museum provides to kids allowing them to explore possibilities in so many careers. This weekend - 10/27 - they are highlighting ⚡Girl Powered ⚡ - a STEM-themed event focusing on learning opportunities in robotics, aviation, chemistry, construction and so much more. The museum will be buzzing with women speakers, hands-on activities and opportunities to engage with some great community partners including Desert Research Institute, Wells Fargo, Girls Scouts of Southern Nevada and Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. #girlpower

In collaboration with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, DISCOVERY Children’s Museum welcomed over 500 third and fourth graders for a dual field trip following the “Music Tells the Story” concert series at The Smith Center. Students explored sound waves with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, created puppets inspired by Wagner’s Forest Murmurs, and designed landscapes to Skoryk’s Carpathian Concerto in hands-on, STEAM-based workshops. Special thanks to our sponsors, Meow Wolf and Speedway Children’s Charities, and to our volunteers and educators who brought this experience to life!
