About us
As America enters the second decade of the new millennium, the role of educating the ever-increasing number of people of color and other underrepresented minority groups has taken on unprecedented urgency, and the stakes will become even more consequential in the coming months and years. The quality of life for all Americans has now become inextricably linked to a citizenry that possesses a college degree. Indeed, the college degree has replaced the high school diploma as the vehicle for sustained participation in the middle class and beyond. The key to the achievement of this goal is knowledge and information about higher education. And when it comes to providing the information that underpins this, Diverse: Issues In Higher Education has been at the forefront for over 39 years. Leaders from academe, industry and public policy have all come to rely on this award-winning news magazine to stay abreast of the trends and issues that go to the very core of the future of this country and its place in an ever-changing world.

NEW: For Diverse: Issues In Higher Education A record-high 78% of 2024 high school graduates took the ACT during school hours through state- and district-sponsored programs, according to new data released by ACT earlier this week. This marks a record participation rate for the ACT School-Day Testing program, which allows students to take the college entrance exam at no cost. ACT officials said that initiatives like the School-Day Testing program helps to reduce barriers, especially for students from low-income backgrounds and students of color. “We think especially for the states and districts who offer these programs, it means that they're really showing their commitment for every single student to understand their readiness for life after high school," Rose Babington senior director of strategic initiatives at ACT said. https://lnkd.in/dUhyfhBr
