Meet Kathleen (Kat) Velez, our next incredible #AVMA2024 Education Grant recipient! This second-year student from the University of Minnesota has a disposition as sunny as her hometown - Miami! 🌞💙 Kat's big move from the vibrance of Miami to the north for her education was eye-opening. The absence of familiar Spanish conversations and beloved culture highlighted just how much her roots meant to her. It was through diversity and inclusion initiatives that Kat truly found her place in vet school. Her experience goes to show that embracing our unique differences is key to to development and success. Howdy, y'all! We're still buzzing after a whirlwind of fun at #AVMA2024 in Austin, TX! 🤠 From day one, our super-talented Education Grant recipients hit the ground running. They were everywhere —  soaking up knowledge in CE sessions, making connections left and right, and getting inspired by some seriously compelling speeches. 💪 AVMA Sunday was their moment to shine! Our grant reception was the perfect stage for these amazing young veterinary professionals to share their stories and vision for the future of #vetmed.
