The Chicago Market is going to be a great addition to the community. Divine Chocolate is looking forward to fully developing this new relationship!
Chicago Market - A Community Co-op's long journey to open its cooperative grocery store in the city's Uptown neighborhood has about another year to go. But the market management is not waiting to establish sourcing relationships with partners who share their Fair Trade convictions. Today's @Local Food Forumj features an article based on my interview with Dan Arnett, Chicago Market's general manager, who also happens to be the board chairman for the Fairtrade America organization. Dan details what fair trade means to him and Chicago Market, and discusses its partnership with Metropolis Coffee Company (based in Chicago) and Divine Chocolate USA. There are also two related events of note: Chicago Fair Trade is holding its annual Globalfest fundraising dinner on February 24 at Chicago's Newberry Library, and Chicago Market is holding a Fair Trade event at its future store location, the Gerber Building adjacent to the Wilson Red Line station, on March 30. I'm not exactly an objective observer as I have been an owner-member of Chicago Market since early in the project's history. We live only a couple of miles from the store and we can't wait for it to open. https://lnkd.in/g2J_Sjkz
