Dixie Electric Power Assn., together with Cooperative Energy, recently announced the award of a Cooperative Competes grant to Sipcam Agro Solutions LLC. This expansion project is a $3.6 million investment that will create 26 new jobs in the region AND retain an existing 88 employees. Cooperative Competes aims to increase community competitiveness and encourage economic growth. We're proud to help Dixie Electric support the Waynesboro community through Cooperative Competes.

The cooperative was recently recognized at the NRECA Connect Conference. Out of over 800 nationwide entries, they were able to bring home silver-winning submissions in the following categories: 🥇 Best External Event for our innovative DE Fastlink Learning Labs, which have been an incredible educational outreach for our members. 🥇 Best Internal Publication for our bi-monthly publication, Dixie Digest, which keeps our employees informed and connected. This recognition is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and commitment to excellence. Effective communication at the cooperative is vital because it strengthens our community, fosters transparency, and ensures that everyone stays informed and engaged. Our leadership students, Ethan Nguyen, Baylee Powell, and Drake Frasier, participated in the Youth Leadership Workshop in Jackson, along with over 80 other students from across the state. Dixie Electric members should be very proud, as our students represented you, their school, and their communities with honor this week. In addition to completing the program, Drake Frasier from Wayne Academy ranked in the top 10 Youth Leadership Council candidates and was elected by his peers to receive the Cooperative Spirit Award! These students will also represent Dixie Electric this summer as they travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in the Youth Leadership Tour with other student leaders from across the Nation. Help us congratulate these students on a job well done!
