Off the road, Gerald enjoys riding his Harley, firing up the grill for a cookout, and competing in a friendly game of cornhole. He cherishes time with his wife, Sandra, their four children, and nine grandchildren, who keep him busy and bring him joy. Thank you, Gerald, for everything you do! Always use the 3-Points of contact rule when entering or exiting a vehicle, climbing ladders, or stepping onto equipment. Keeping two hands and one foot OR two feet and one hand in contact at all times helps prevent slips, trips, and falls. Stay safe out there! 💪

Hey Drivers! Quick reminder—be sure to upload tarped load photos to Samsara before leaving the shipper. Cargo claims are not only a failure on our end in the customer’s eyes, but they are incredibly costly as well. Proper tarping protects the load, ensures safety on the road, and meets both DMT and customer requirements. Your Driver Manager will review the photos to confirm everything is secure. Congratulations to our February Contractor of the Month, Chip L.! Chip Long has been an OTR flatbed driver for over 20 years and joined #DMTeam in January 2024. In July 2024, he achieved a long-time goal of owning his truck through DMT’s Lease-Purchase program—and the rest is history. Passionate about his work, Chip takes great pride in what he does and values the support of those who have helped him along the way. He describes DMT as an "awesome company with an even better work family." Beyond trucking, Chip has been happily married to his wife, Brandi, for 25 years. Together, they have two daughters, Madison and Meagan, and sons-in-law, Will and Noah. He enjoys Alabama football, spending time with family, and, most importantly, his faith. Chip earned top revenue in January. His dedication and willingness to take available loads set him apart. Chip consistently stays out a couple of weekends each month, maximizing his earnings while contributing to the company’s success. With an unwavering dedication to his profession and a commitment to excellence, Dwayne has proven to be an invaluable member of our team. A veteran of the trucking industry, Dwayne began his career in 1999 and has spent the past 25 years navigating the roadways with skill and determination. He is an owner-operator out of Mississippi and started with the company in 2021. His passion for the job is matched only by his love for his family. Married to his wife, Lisa, Dwayne is also the proud father of eight daughters. When asked about the hardest part of his job, Dwayne shares that “every day is a challenge out here watching out for others.” Despite the difficulties, he approaches his work with a positive attitude, always looking for ways to improve and succeed. His ability to keep his truck loaded and moving efficiently is a testament to his expertise. Dwayne credits the supportive management team at DMT for playing a key role in his achievements and his Driver Manager, Eri K., for knowing exactly where he likes to run to ensure continued success. Dwayne has built strong relationships within the company and has continued to grow those relationships over the years. For those new to the industry, Dwayne offers simple but valuable advice: “Get out and look if you’re not sure in any situation, and also ask for help from your Driver Manager or fellow drivers on securing a load if needed.” Beyond his skills on the road, Dwayne enjoys making people smile and connecting with others—a quality that makes him not just a great driver, but a great person.
