This week, I took part in two inspiring activities: the Thurgood Marshall College Fund CEO Impact Awards, and a visit to our Rock Hill, SC facility. 1. A group of Domtar colleagues and I attended the Thurgood Marshall College Fund CEO Impact Awards event in Charlotte, where honoree Eugene Woods, CEO of Advocate Health, delivered remarks that reminded us of the necessity and importance of hope - and the power of education. I'm a big believer in education, and appreciate that Domtar supports the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and scholars attending HBCUs. 2. I visited our Rock Hill converting plant on Thursday morning, where mill manager Ben Lane and quality coordinator Michael Casarez showed me how their teams are using our Poka knowledge management system. It's always good to see our employees making the products our customers rely on, and the Rock Hill plant models how we put customers first and keep our operations agile to support customer needs.
