A few months ago, this was us at our first offsite in Yosemite, recharging our batteries before the final countdown to Demo Day. I won’t post a picture of how we’re looking now, because it's definitely far from this! but I can say that the entire Domu (YCS24) team has never pushed harder to achieve the best possible outcome for our Y Combinator #DemoDay. The clock is ticking, and so is our drive to hit those metrics, also any recommendation for things we should do after Demo day?

77% of YC's Summer 2024 startups are focused on AI. That's a massive leap from 70% in W24 and 57% last summer. Some of what these AI startups are doing: • Lilac Labs (YC S24): Automating drive-thru orders with voice AI. • Brighterway: Streamlining workers-compensation claims review. • Drillbit (YC S24): Overhauling home service business operations. • Parley (YC S24): Simplifying visa applications. • BeeBettor: Monetizing sports betting strategies. • SchemeFlow: Generating technical reports for construction projects. • Domu (YCS24): Handling debt collection calls for banks. • Central: Managing payroll, benefits, and government filings for founders. This summer’s batch just goes to show that AI is becoming integral to business operations. More interesting data from the S24 cohort: • 38% of startups are fully remote or hybrid. • 16% are women-founded. • 68% have two founders, while only 6% are solo founders. • 25 companies are in stealth mode, and 8 founders still working their day jobs. The conversation is no longer about whether AI will make changes in your industry, but when.
