  • Huge shout out to Vanessa Richardson of California Groundbreakers for hosting an engaging "Enlightenment" salon-style discussion about the most effective ways we can collectively challenge our thinking to push downtown into the future. These grassroots gatherings are where revolutionary ideas are born (literally). By getting everyone at the table, we get insight from a wide range of perspectives that will allow us to build a central city that works for everyone. Hope to see you at the next Enlightenment gathering! (Not tagged: Heidi Rojek, Co-owner of Capital Books and There and Back Cafe, an extremely valuable voice as a downtown business owner)!

  • The Faces of Downtown Sac: Public Space Services (AKA Clean & Safe)   With early morning pressure washes, litter pick-up, graffiti removal, and outreach to people experiencing homelessness, our Public Space Services team is DOING 👏 THE 👏 WORK 👏. Their efforts directly impact your day whether you interact with them or not. You’ve probably spotted our Clean & Safe teams in their iconic neon shirts or our Downtown Guides who are now in red. They’re connecting with the people of downtown — checking in with businesses, assisting with police reports, responding to calls, and tackling public safety challenges head-on.   Public Space Ambassadors assist our events teams with load-in/out, making spaces ready to go, and are always problem-solving to ensure events and projects flow smoothly.   We have two Downtown Resource Coordinators that are out every day directly assisting the unhoused and lending a hand to anyone in need. They link people experiencing homelessness to vital local resources and have reconnected people with their families.    The Clean & Safe teams set the foundation for everything that our organization does. None of the events, marketing, and large-scale projects we do would be successful if it wasn’t for their dedication to keeping downtown beautiful!

  • We’re very excited to welcome Portland Metro Chamber’s 2024 Best Practices Trip to downtown Sacramento! Community and economic leaders from Portland, Oregon are here to exchange ideas and study development efforts, like Golden 1 Center and the Convention Center renovation, that have spurred growth for our city and region. The delegation got a walking tour to see the progress being made downtown, joined a panel about Golden 1 Center’s immense impact in our city, and studied other transformational projects in our area. As cities with many similarities, there’s a lot to learn from each other about livability challenges, re-envisioning downtown, and building a strong regional brand.

"I feel like my México was taken away from me, and I do all this to kind of recreate it." Ernesto Delgado has a vision to create a hub for Latino culture in Sacramento. Already, the entrepreneur's ideas are coming to life through his local restaurants and the innovations at Cesar Chavez Plaza. ABC10's Roxanne Elias shared Ernesto's journey. ⬇ #sacramento #hispanicheritagemonth #entrepreneur #localjournalism Downtown Sacramento Partnership Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce City of Sacramento

  • The Faces of Downtown Sac: Marketing & Communications Madelyn, Gabby, Marlee, and Austin showcase everything downtown Sacramento has to offer. Whether you’ve discovered a new restaurant through an Instagram reel or joined an event via the newsletter, we’re behind the scenes making it happen, all while managing 10+ brands under Downtown Sac’s domain. As a PBID, we serve our property and business owners by collaborating with other non-profits to bring people and businesses new opportunities. We collect, create, and send informative newsletters explaining updates to our central city and upcoming opportunities to capitalize on. We translate the data and work other teams do to be understood by the masses. We read every comment, DM, and occasional reddit thread to use all of your feedback, concerns, hopes, and dreams to mold our programming to bring your vision for downtown to life!

  • Today the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors allocated $250,000 to Downtown Sacramento Partnership to support our clean & safe efforts with technology-based security and enhancement of on-street services. This supplemental funding is crucial to address the community’s fundamental needs as we serve downtown's growing population of employees, residents, and visitors. Keeping our streets clean and safe sets the foundation for DSP to lead the way in downtown’s evolution. Thank you to Supervisor Phil Serna, County Executive David Villanueva, and the Board of Supervisors for your leadership in recognizing the importance of downtown’s role in our region, and supporting our vision for the central city.

  • The Faces of Downtown Sac: Economic Development   Scott, Andrew, Autumn, and Tyler make up our Economic Development team. They use research, strategy, and advocacy to guide downtown’s evolution into a thriving neighborhood and the region’s social district.   They’re supporting local businesses, diving deep into data, and crafting the long-term vision for downtown through their work on things like the Urban Land Institute Technical Advisory Panel, Livability Strategy, and the Golden 1 Center Economic Impact Report.   Upgrades to Cesar Chavez Plaza and the Waterfront Embarcadero, efforts to reconnect downtown to the riverfront, and the Calling All Dreamers business incubator are all possible because of this team’s dedication to moving our city forward and making sure our businesses are heard!
