Last week, Chamber President & CEO Robert Heidt attended a reception hosted by David Nelson of Capitol Regions Consulting in celebration of the success to fully-fund the SBDC Technical Assistance Program in California. We especially thank State Senator Steve Padilla and California Assembly member Sharon Quirk-Silva for their support to champion the continued funding!

Last Thursday our Leadership Sacramento class took a behind the scenes look at health and wellness in the region. Last week, the Metro Chamber joined Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho, Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, and San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan in support of the Common Sense on Safety Committee-Yes on Proposition 36. Proposition 36 is a common-sense measure that will combat suffering on our streets with proven tools that can save lives and get more of the people who need help into treatment programs, while protecting businesses and working families from gaps in current law that fail to hold repeat offenders accountable. 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gQpcjv5N

Robert and Liz met with the Sacramento Zoo leadership to discuss their big move to Elk Grove City slated for 2030. At full build out, the new zoo will have elevated facility for all the animals and increased capacity for attractions that will attract nationally tourism to the region as a state of the art zoo!

What a busy week for the Metro Chamber team! Robert and Heidi Pyle of Clutch attended the FBI Academy yesterday. Leadership Sacramento held Health and Wellness day where they had a chance to tour Sutter Health Medical Center Sacramento, including their helipad! Our Metro EDGE Leadership Council held their monthly planning meeting where they finalized details for the upcoming Emerge Summit on September 5th! Make sure you register to attend. And a busy week in the office with visitors from Bank of America, MMS Strategies, and Golden Pacific Bank, and more. We kept busy this week and are excited to continue serving the business community in the region!

Another great week at the Chamber! 🎉 The third annual Metro EDGE and Golden 1 Intern Lunch was spectacular! Members of our Leadership Council had the opportunity to send off Golden 1 summer interns through a mentor panel chatting about the transition into the workforce and life after graduating. Robert was honored to attend the Western Association of Chamber Executives Academy Plus program held right here in Sacramento! This three-day conference welcomed nearly 200 Chamber Executives from around the western region of our country. When we remain engaged in our industry with our peers, we are able to capture the best ideas and collaborations happening in an effort to strengthen the programs and services we provide for our members and region.
