As March comes to a close and we wrap up Women’s History Month in a few days 📆, the DFS GCHI Board of Directors remains committed to the belief that EVERY DAY is a day to celebrate women. This week, we gathered to plan for the year ahead, brainstorm ways to enhance our programs and services, and welcomed four new Directors, who we’ll be introducing soon! 💫 We were so engaged in our work that we only managed to snap one photo. Our hearts 💕 are ending this week full of joy! In honor of Women’s History Month we hosted our annual Headshot Clinic and our center was bursting with energy. This important initiative allowed the women attending to relax for a bit, be pampered by our amazing friends at Ulta Beauty, meet with one of our incredible career coaches, Christina Bourné, Betsy Barnich, Mary Bilbrey for individual counseling, and have a professional headshot taken by Clare Britt. This program was made available at no cost to the attendees through the generous donations we receive from individuals and sponsors like you! The gratitude from the women was overwhelming. Thank you! A note of thanks to the staff for creating an event that all attendees, clients and volunteers, felt the immediate impact. Today’s Dress for Success #WomenWhoInspire2025 Honoree is Lydia Basanes. Lydia first came to Dress for Success Greater Chicago as a college student seeking guidance in refining her employment skills. Eager to learn, Lydia attended a Career Coaching session and actively participated in workshops, ultimately becoming a passionate advocate for Dress for Success. Her commitment to empowering others led her to become a client speaker at several luncheons and a two-time model at the Women Wine & Wardrobe fundraising event. Now employed as a financial counselor with Northwestern Medical Group, Lydia continues to inspire with her ability to connect with people and make a lasting impact in any environment.
