August 9th is International Day of The World’s Indigenous Peoples. To mark this commemoration, today we put a spotlight on Canadian affiliate Dress for Success Regina. The ribbon skirt shown above is a hand-made, traditional garment that represents the sacredness of women in many Indigenous cultures across North America. This traditional clothing of Indigenous peoples, identifying as Cree, were displayed at Dress for Success Regina during Canada’s National Indigenous History Month last June. “Dress for Success Regina serves women and non-binary individuals, and we honor all Indigenous peoples, particularly, Indigenous women and two-spirited peoples. They are important to the lives of their communities, ensuring they have the clothing needed for their daily lives, ceremonies and celebrations.” Dress for Success supports women of all backgrounds and experiences.
