This past weekend, I had the honor of joining fellow members of the NAAIA NY - National African American Insurance Association - New York Tri-State and friends at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Brooklyn. This event served as a meaningful opportunity to come together in the fight against breast cancer—a cause that profoundly impacts our communities. Our walk was more than just a physical journey; it symbolized unity, resilience, and a shared commitment to supporting individuals and families affected by breast cancer. Standing side by side, we raised awareness, amplified voices, and demonstrated solidarity in this ongoing battle. I am proud to be part of an organization that not only promotes diversity but also takes action with empathy and purpose. A special thanks to Formeka Hayslett, MS , for her outstanding coordination, and to each NAAIA NY Tri-State member who contributed to this impactful day: Sharliemae Henry, MBA , Mr. and Mrs. Ibrahim Nsangou, Tracy-Ann Duffus, AU, ARM, ERM , Sherece P. , Chelsea Gallimore, Adriana Wahrman, Celeste A., and Raumert Hubert. Together, our chapter raised over $4,000, contributing to essential breast cancer research, patient services, and early detection programs across New York and New Jersey. Every donation and step we took moves us closer to a future without breast cancer. Today, I walked with team NAAIA - National African American Insurance Association along with my good friends Shakema Brown and Denise Campbell and thousands of people who gathered in Newark in support of American Cancer Society’s breast cancer awareness campaign making strides for a cure.
