Once again, I am so proud of my guys. Albert Taylor, Ryan Grab and Tom Yocom presented today at the Florida Utilities Coordinating Committee FUCC conference. My DRMP SUE Leadership team is just amazing. Joining them at the conference was our very own Utility Coordinator, Ivan Hernandez, who is the current Chair of the Design Build Committee. As DRMP’s Learning and Development Specialist, I’m excited to be a part of our growing commitment to employee development through the Inner Speaker Series! Public speaking has been a passion of mine for the better part of 10 years and I'm thrilled to bring my passion to my coworkers. What started off as our "SpeakEasy" curriculum developed almost two years ago has now become an engaging training focused on making public speaking more manageable and less nerve-racking for our staff. We’ve successfully kicked off the program, and it’s already making an impact. I had the pleasure of speaking with a fantastic group of civil engineering students about life in the world of traffic engineering! I was there to represent DRMP but more than anything, I wanted to share insights about the rewarding—and sometimes challenging—field of transportation and traffic engineering. We dove into real-world projects, the role of technology in solving today’s transportation challenges, and the work that goes into keeping our roadways safe and efficient. From intelligent traffic signals to designing systems that monitor road conditions and reduce wrong-way driving, there’s so much happening in the background to make our daily commutes smoother and safer. Thanks to the ASCE Chapter at the University of Central Florida for the warm welcome—and to the students for making it such a memorable experience.
