The Inert Infrastructure Protection Screening Kit is composed of several different inert improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and component parts, as well as inert blasting caps, inert firearms and components, and inert explosive simulants. The DSA Detection Inert Car Bomb training aid is engineered to have the same density and effective atomic number (Zeff) as a real VBIED of its type. It is X-ray, CT, and metal detector accurate. Screeners can now train, as well as be tested on inert car bomb detection using their own screening tools. They can also observe how their automatic detection algorithms may react to this type of threat.
