Bio: Maria started working in the IT industry over 30 years ago, working in all areas of the channel, Vendors, MSPs and Distribution. Starting in channel sales, and working through various leadership roles, bringing insights into how to leverage and improve the client-partner-distribution-vendor relationships. With a number of years in leadership positions, Maria has knowledge and passion for business governance, and a particular skillset in sales operations. Her role as the Manager of Academy for Pax8 APAC brings her skillset to the MSPs through the training, peer groups, and coaching offered by the Academy team to the APAC community. Being involved with the community has always been a key driver for Maria. Prior to joining Pax8, Maria was CEO at SMBiT Professionals, an ANZ industry association for MSPs. He joined CompTIA in March 2022 and ConnectWise in 2018 when the company acquired Sienna Group, a security solutions provider. During his five years at Sienna Group, he served as a principal consultant who focused on data classification and FISMA compliance, as well as managed security services. Bio: Jackie French is the Director for the Faculty of Creative Arts and Digital Design at TAFE Queensland’s Brisbane Region and has worked in education for 25 years. Jackie is passionate about teaching and learning. Jackie has a Master’s Degree in Information Security and Computer Crime and worked within the UK High Tech Crime Unit on her Master’s thesis “Data Visualisation”. Jackie has held a variety of teaching and senior management positions within vocational and higher education organisations in Australia and overseas. Jackie’s passion is cybersecurity, and one of her recent flagship projects to build a world-class training facility with state-of-the-art equipment has been a huge success. The facility allows students to carry out live-fire cyber-attack sessions using a purpose-built LEGO City and simulated SOC. Her role sees her leading a team of dual-sector education teams in the creative arts and information technology portfolio across TAFE Queensland. While Jackie's passion is in technology, she cannot deny her newfound passion for the Arts. Since moving into her role at TAFE Queensland, Jackie also spends her time enjoying what the Creative Industries in Australia has to offer, including theatre, galleries, and musical performances, and promoting the Arts to ensure it is recognised and presented as a viable career option. She leads a team of amazingly talented teachers and administrators who support thousands of students in the faculty to realise their dreams.
