DTE's involvement with the Detroit Tree Equity Partnership and the planting of 25,000 trees in Detroit exemplifies our mission to improve lives with energy and care for the communities where we live and serve. Learn more about this work: https://lnkd.in/ecnZMdNf
The writer Louise Dickinson Rich once said "I feel a great regard for trees; they represent age and beauty and the miracles of life and growth." Those words rang true for me and other community leaders who celebrated the planting of the 25,000th tree by the Detroit Tree Equity Partnership this week. It’s a collaboration with DTE Energy, the City of Detroit and Greening of Detroit with a goal of planting 75,000 trees in the city by the end of 2027. We’re well on our way to achieving that goal. These trees capture carbon dioxide and provide cooling shade in the heat of summer. Learn more about our work with the Detroit Tree Equity Partnership here: https://lnkd.in/e7YC53YT

We're thrilled to announce that we have begun operating our largest solar park, Sauk Solar, in Branch County. Sauk Solar can generate enough clean energy to power 40,000 homes. It's also the first of six new solar parks to come online that are all funded by customer enrollments in our voluntary renewable energy program, MIGreenPower. Learn more: http://spr.ly/6048q7hEg

When nearly 600 DTE crew members, contractors and tree trimmers headed south in the beginning of October to assist with restoration efforts after the devastating hurricanes this month, they were overwhelmed by the support of the local communities. From kind words to hot meals, the team appreciated the southern hospitality and these thank you notes from Ms. Josey’s second grade class in Evans, Georgia were especially touching. We’re extremely grateful to our team for their work getting the power back on and were proud to welcome them home earlier this month.

Check out the STEM skills of these students from Cristo Rey and Cass Tech High Schools in Detroit. They built these cool robots and were at our headquarters last week to show them off and share more about FIRST Robotics. DTE and the DTE Foundation support FIRST teams and events across the state, while dozens of employees volunteer with the program. It’s one of the many ways we support young people and their future STEM careers.
