  • Welcome to new Duluth Area Chamber member, Summit School! The mission of Summit School is to provide the children in its care, beginning in infancy, the highest quality of developmentally appropriate learning experiences to create an environment that embodies creativity, exploration, respect, safety, and fun. The school is centrally located in a quiet, residential neighborhood at 1600 N 8th Ave E, Duluth, with three acres of outdoor space to used for learning and exploration year-round. Their 100+ year-old building has more than 15,000 square feet that the teachers use to create innovative learning opportunities. Visit www.summitschoolduluth.com to learn more about the school or to schedule a tour. CHAMBER MEMBERS: Summit School and its board would like to consider options for expanding the service they can provide to the community. As they have seen the childcare crisis deepen, they are excited to join the Duluth Area Chamber and seek partnerships with local organizations to increase the number of children they can enroll. It really does take a village to care for kids, and here are some ways you could join theirs: • Host a trunk at their homecoming event! Summit will be hosting a homecoming Trunk-or-Treat event at Chester Park on Saturday, October 26th. Chamber members are invited to host a trunk to hand out candy or other branded items. They anticipate 75-100 families will attend. • Partner with Summit School! The mayor’s child care task force report calls for businesses to partner with childcare centers to support employees’ care. Summit School is ready for those conversations, and wants to partner with the business community to expand services. Please reach out to them if you’re interested. Welcome to the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce!

  • Another fantastic Let’s Do Lunch! Thank you Sanford (Sandy) Hoff, President of F.I. Salter, for being our featured speaker and giving such an insightful and inspiring presentation. We appreciate all you and your team do for our community, business community, Chamber and the regional economy. In addition to hearing about past, present and future projects, and insights as to how we can improve our local housing market and business climate, Sandy also broke the news that the shopper’s ramp, which has been a blighted property in the heart of downtown Duluth for far too long, has been transferred to the City/DEDA and can be prepped for redevelopment! 🎉 Thank you to the over 125 guests who joined us for the lunch. Thank you Wheeler Associates for sponsoring the event!
