Women's Equality Day 2024 is a time to reflect on the people that came before us to fight to bring equality for all people. Elizabeth Peratrovich was one of the people who recognized discrimination against the Indigenous people of Alaska and aimed to do something about it. Women's Impact Network celebrates the women who were willing to speak up and fight for the rights we have today! #WIN #WomensEqualityDay2024

    • An image on a purple background of abstract images depicting equality with a quote from Elizabeth Peratrovich (née Elizabeth Jean Wanamaker; Tlingit: Ḵaax̲gal.aat) that reads "Asking you to give me equal rights implies that they are yours to give. Instead, I must demand that you stop trying to deny me the rights all people deserve.

Below that the image says Women's Equality Day 2024 and has the Women's Impact Network Logo of a "WIN" with the W having a purple flame on it.

Happy International Allyship Day! As an employee resource group, we know that we can't succeed at our mission to Educate. Advocate. Change. without the support of our allies. Everyone is on a different point in their allyship journey, and there's always ways we can improve. As we reflect on this day, we want to hear from you: What does allyship look like for you? Who is someone who you recognize as an ally, and what do they do? What's a piece of advice you would give to someone to be a better ally? #InternationalAllyshipDay #Allies #Allyship #WIN

The text reads "Happy International Allyship Day" and has the Women's Impact Network (WIN) logo on it which has a W with a flame.

My face hurts from smiling. One of my favorite parts of my job is being able to train people, and today I got to train one of my favorite courses #IAmRemarkable for #IAmRemarkableWeek! Getting to meet and connect with incredible people across the company always energizes me and leaves me feeling unstoppable. So happy that one of my suggestions for the deck is already there and helped me to take a photo of my second class of the day. (The first one I ran out of time thanks to some amazing conversations!) #IAmRemarkable #WIN #Smile

On Friday, I had the opportunity to attend the SIM Women Colorado Spring Conference! There were so many incredible speakers who talked about everything from finding community and making plans that will lead you to success, recognizing and working within power dynamics, being able to give and get really good feedback, and how to be a STAR at managing your workload. One of the people I got to know a little better was Tricia Broderick who not only co-authored the book, Lead without Blame, but also is going to be a speaker at Mile High Agile 2024 next week! There's still tickets available, and I can tell you from personal experience now that her presentations are powerful and definitely a great reason to attend the event. Happy Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month! It's incredible to reflect on all the accomplishments of the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who enriched our history. This video does a great job highlighting the absolute breadth of achievement! Who else would you add to this showcase? #AANHPI #Winning #HAAPI

May is Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, a month to honor and acknowledge the extraordinary accomplishments AANHPI people have made in this country. Many Asian women who work in professions dominated by men, experience the challenge of being “double Onlys”——often both the only woman and the only Asian person in the room. We’re celebrating a few of these trailblazers who have broken barriers. Who else would you include? Let us know in the comments below!

Today we closed out Women's History Month by hosting a panel on Inspiring Inclusion Across Tech. Our President, Marie Nelson, and Vice President, Thea Karyn Shook, met with four incredible leaders, Liz Bauer, Sarah Morrison, Jill Stark, and Aimee Sutton, who were all recommended by people for promoting inclusion at their companies. We learned from their experience more about how inspiring inclusion for ourselves and others relies on us taking actions to make our companies a better place for everyone. Thank you to the panelists and thank you to all of our members for making this a month to remember.

Everyone always tells you that accomplishments speak louder when you have facts. So here’s our facts about our International Women’s Day Celebration this past Friday. Over 71,000 beads. 3,608 feet of string.  1,050 cookies. 600 mini empanadas.  480 clasps.  392 mini cupcakes and dessert bars.  Over 3 dozen leadership members and volunteers (Women AND Men) making it happen at…  8 locations across the US.  3 women-owned businesses supported (shout out to Posh Cakes, Eileen’s Colossal Cookies, and Maria Empanada’s) 2 incredible sponsors of Paramount + with SHOWTIME and Qualtrics.  2 photo booths with each person taking away photos of our celebration. All leading to 1 incredible day of networking and celebrating the incredible women we have here. Our goal was to celebrate the Power of Us, and we saw that through providing stickers in the morning, cookies and bracelet making, and even an after-work happy hour. All were welcome. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us and to our leaders who made this event possible! When women win, we all #WIN! #InternationalWomensDay #InspireInclusion #DISH #EchoStar #WomensImpactNetwork #WeAreRemarkable #PowerOfUs
