E3: Elevate Early Education

Early literacy matters for ALL children. 3rd grade is a critical benchmark – and too many 3rd graders are not passing the Reading SOL. The alarming data is a call to action for us all. 𝗪𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆. ✏️ Tell school board members that every child must read by third grade. ✏️ Ask teachers, principals, superintendents + school boards if they are using a science-based reading curriculum & supporting teachers. ✏️ Find out if your school has a data-driven literacy plan to address reading gaps. ✏️ Ask elected officials for dedicated annual funding to build, implement + sustain the Virginia Literacy Act. ✏️ Write an op-ed in your local paper. ✏️ Sponsor E3’s Awareness Campaign.
