  • Check out our September #monthlyMEDrics! It's fall, y'all! After the Labor Day holiday, we see a dip in calls in all categories as we hunker down for winter. We're taking this time to hire some new folks for winter, train and maintain our skills to ensure we can serve our community with the highest standard of care and, of course, answer the call whenever our community might need it. Just a few notes: The information presented in this graphic is based on incident dispatch call type. An incident is a count of each single, unscheduled emergency event for which EC Paramedics' assistance is requested. A response is a count of each time we responded to an incident. We hope you enjoy this more in-depth look into the activities of your Eagle County Paramedic Services. #monthymetrics

  • Help us fund the 2024 Volunteer Driving Program! The Eagle County Healthy Aging Volunteer Driver program connects volunteer drivers who donate their time to assist members of the community who are 60 years old (or better) with rides to medical appointments. At Eagle County Paramedic Services, one of our missions is to eliminate barriers to healthcare--providing transportation is one of the easiest ways to achieve this. Additionally, the volunteer driving program mitigates need for the use of emergent resources (i.e., ambulances) for routine medical needs. Eagle County Paramedic Services is fundraising in partnership with Eagle County Community Health and Healthy Aging to support this program and continue providing rides to medical appointments to those who need them. Currently, funding depends on several partners; recently, one partner declined to extend funding for this program. As a result, we are left with a $5,000 deficit that needs to be recouped. All donations received during this fundraising effort will go directly to the Volunteer Driving Program to assist volunteers with drive-related costs such as mileage reimbursement and volunteer appreciation. Any additional funds raised will be utilized in 2025 (and beyond). We’re committed to sustaining the driver program as it is vital to our community. Community Paramedics witness first-hand the benefit of the Volunteer Driver Program; we hope the community realizes the importance of this service and generously helps us meet our goal! • Check out our August #monthlyMEDrics! Ah, the approach to fall. You can see that we said pretty consistent with responses in all categories--calls, 911 responses, interfacility transfers and community paramedic responses--but you'll see this numbers decrease in September as we hunker down for winter. What do we do in the slower months? We still run plenty of calls but we also use this time for training to ensure we can serve our community with the highest standard of care. Just a few notes: The information presented in this graphic is based on incident dispatch call type. We love sharing what we do with our elected officials: Last week, Representative Kyle Brown stopped by our Edwards station to learn more about EMS and rural healthcare. Today, ECPS' Brandon Daruna and Alice Harvey attended a Mobile Integrated Health roundtable discussion with Senator Hickenlooper in Grand County. It's always great to meet the policy makers in person!
