About us
A product of the Allen Institute for AI, EarthRanger is a data visualization and analysis software that gives protected areas and conservationists the real-time information they require to keep wildlife, habitats, and communities safe. Easy to use and free for conversation missions, the platform collects, integrates, and displays all historical and available data and combines it with reports from the field to provide one unified view of tagged animals, rangers, and any other assets whether on land or sea. With EarthRanger, see the big picture, react immediately, and make better-informed conservation decisions.

And that’s a wrap from Costa Rica! 🌎 This week, we finished our last EarthRanger Training Workshop in San José, marking the end of a season of incredible connections. Over the past two months, our team hosted 7 regional workshops, bringing together over 500 conservation heroes from across 51 countries. These workshops aren’t just about training; they’re about connecting people, sparking new ideas, and inspiring collaborations that protect our planet. This season saw some exciting firsts: our debut workshop in Asia (Cambodia!), our first Spanish-led event (Hola, Panama City!), and endless conversations that will fuel our team and our platform for years! A special shout-out to all of you who joined us -- it was an incredible honor to host you! Recap story and video to come.

We're thrilled to be part of this impactful initiative! Explore how the Global Initiative to End Wildlife Crime unites organizations across various disciplines to protect wildlife. We're all in this together! #Tech4Wildlife #Tech4Good
We are delighted to announce that EarthRanger has become our first Impact Technology Champion. EarthRanger’s platform integrates data from AI-powered camera traps, satellite imagery, and wildlife tracking systems, enabling real-time responses to threats, such as poaching. Their work is transforming conservation efforts globally by preventing poaching, tracking arrests, and improving protected area management and protecting endangered species. This is just the beginning of our Impact Technology Champions initiative, which aims to connect cutting-edge tech solutions with conservationists to tackle the growing complexity of wildlife crime. More champions will be announced soon, expanding this network of innovation and impact. The Impact Technology Champions initiative is co-chaired by Sarah M. W. Maston and John Scanlon AO. We are heartbroken to share the loss of our dear friend and conservation giant, Endri Steyn. Endri's leadership in conservation and at Sabi Sand Nature Reserve was instrumental in the early days of #EarthRanger, and his guidance continued to be invaluable. We will miss his infectious laughter, wise counsel, and unwavering dedication. Rest in peace, Endri.
