Today starts our 4th season of esports. What started as a pilot program evolved through a roadshow, a middle school showdown, and an 8-team competition has morphed into what we have today: two leagues - one for elementary and middle school, and a regional high school league - because people wanted to take that journey with us. "Life is a journey, and memories are souvenirs we take along the way." Today we will continue making memories for our gamers, our staff, and our student ambassadors who work behind the scenes to make esports what it is: an inclusive gathering of gamers, friends, and inspirational leaders who want to change the landscape of esports in Louisiana. "This was the most exciting part of my day! Staying late and putting time in for these students to shine is what it is about. We kicked off the production of Esports Tonight yesterday evening. Sure, it took us an hour to produce just 20 minutes of content, but it's a fantastic learning experience for the team. Remember, every great journey starts with a single step. We're taking those steps, one show at a time. I'm incredibly proud of the team's progress. We're building something truly special here." Just another Example how to tie Esports into "beyond the game": Brainstorming Concepts Science: Discuss the science behind gaming, such as ergonomics, cognitive functions, and the impact of technology on the brain. Technology: Explore the history of gaming technology, from arcade machines to virtual reality. Art: Create concept art for the show. Writing Scripts Language Arts: Practice writing different types of scripts, such as interviews, commentary, and game reviews. Storyboarding Visual Arts: Learn about composition, perspective, and storytelling through visual images. Technology: Use digital tools to create storyboards. Math: Calculate camera angles and shot durations. Outlining Language Arts: Practice creating outlines for different types of writing, such as scripts, articles, and essays. Math: Use logical reasoning to organize information. Technology: Use digital tools to create and organize outlines.
