Consumers may have been paying more for milk and eggs in the past two years, but inflation had little effect on their enrollment in voluntary benefits, according to Eastbridge’s new “MarketVision™—The Employer Viewpoint©” report. General agents are quickly becoming a big presence in the voluntary market, according to Eastbridge’s new “Field Structure and Distribution of Voluntary Carriers” Spotlight™ Report. More than 75% of voluntary carriers we surveyed use GAs to boost their distribution system, up from about one-half just a few years ago. And carriers are getting more specific about what they expect from their GA partners: the number outlining performance requirements is up from 46% in 2021 to 74% this year.
