Huge congratulations to Vinnie and Gino Pelione from Warren, Michigan, for completing an incredible 49-day through-ride along the East Coast Greenway, from Calais, Maine, all the way to Key West, Florida, on October 25! Reflecting on their journey, Vinnie and Gino shared: “Our trek down the East Coast Greenway was full of highs, lows and everything in between. Truly a life-changing experience for us both—filled with beautiful places and unforgettable faces. Thanks to this route, we were able to explore cities and parts of the country we had never seen before. Would 10/10 do it again.” Their adventure is a testament to the transformative power of active transportation networks like East Coast Greenway. Ready to plan your own journey? About us
The East Coast Greenway Alliance leads the development of a 3,000-mile biking and walking route from Key West, Florida, to Calais, Maine, on the Canadian border. We work with partners at the local, state, regional, and national level to move more of the Greenway to protected, off-road paths. In 2017, our organization's 25th birthday, the route stands at 32 percent off road through 15 states and Washington, D.C.

We had a fantastic Sunday celebrating Durham's vibrant running community! It was a pleasure to connect with partners from the PUMA Group Elite Running Team and Bull City Running Co. for a memorable group run on the East Coast Greenway, followed by the finale of Bull City Running Co.'s Kids Run Durham fall series. Seeing young athletes inspired by their role models was especially rewarding. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this event a success!

"[It will be] 43 miles long; 22 miles of it should be under construction within a year from now. We have all but seven miles of it funded within the next six to seven years." Today is Great Trails State Day in North Carolina, and the East Coast Greenway Alliance is a proud member of The Great Trails State Coalition. North Carolina's trails offer more than just recreation - they're important for our physical and mental health. After Hurricane Helene, it's important to celebrate the resilience of both our communities and our trails. Whether you're hiking, biking or just enjoying nature, take a moment to experience the trails with gratitude.

Our team had the pleasure of hosting through-rider Miranda Baltaxe today in the midst on an incredible journey from Calais, Maine, to Key West, Florida, on the East Coast Greenway route. Miranda, a native of Arlington, Virginia, is the first long-distance traveler to visit our new office in Downtown Durham. We're excited to support her sustainable adventure along the East Coast Greenway and wish her all the best as she continues her ride! #EastCoastGreenway #ActiveTransportation

Mid-Atlantic Manager Daniel Paschall and New Jersey & New York Manager Sofia B. had a great time co-leading a recent Delaware River Heritage Trail ride with local partners on the East Coast Greenway New Jersey complementary route from Burlington to Trenton! After an update about the trail's progress at the historic Library Company of Burlington, which included Burlington County Commissioner Allison Eckel, they teamed up with the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, New Jersey Conservation Foundation, D&R Greenway Partnership, Rails to Trails Conservancy and the Burlington County Historical Society to put on the event, which also included walk as well as the bike ride after the presentation.

Executive Director Dennis Markatos-Soriano had a great experience at the High Line Network Symposium in Detroit this week! Plenty of learning and networking to help us move the East Coast Greenway forward with allies from all over the country and beyond.
