Easton Utilities is responsible for the operation, management and maintenance of the electric, water, wastewater, natural gas, cable television and Internet utility services for the Town of Easton and portions of the surrounding area. In 1923, Easton became the first municipality in the state to own all of its utilities, an arrangement that is still unique today. Easton Utilities is a community-owned, not-for-profit, utility and telecommunications company. MISSION To enhance the quality of life in our community by providing, reliable, competitively priced utility and communication services through skilled, safety-oriented and customer focused employees.

    JOIN OUR TEAM! Easton Utilities is currently seeking to fill the position of Administrative Support. JOB OBJECTIVE To assist the administrative staff and other employees by completing daily tasks efficiently and in a timely manner by providing clerical and administrative support as needed. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. JOB REQUIREMENTS: For placement at Administrative Support I: •Requirements to perform this job successfully include at least two (2) years professional level administrative support related experience and/or training. •Must be enthusiastic, have strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel. •Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written and be computer literate. •Other requirements include strong typing skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. •Must have a valid driver’s license. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have high school diploma or equivalent. For placement at Administrative Support II: •In addition to the requirements for Administrative Support I; •Two (2) years of additional related professional level Administrative Support experience.     Big news from UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SHORE REGIONAL HEALTH INC “Today, the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) approved the rate application request from University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), for the new Shore Regional Medical Center in Easton. HSCRC’s approval helps offset interest and depreciation for the construction of the new facility and represents the final step needed for site preparation work to begin at 10000 Longwoods Road later this month.” Read the full July 10 story here=>> https://lnkd.in/eMbfsYbx

    Easton Utilities has named Tracie A. Thomas as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Secretary of the Commission. Thomas replaces Steve Ochse who retired after nine successful years as the CFO. “I am excited for this opportunity at an important time in our evolution and look forward to ensuring a solid financial future for Easton Utilities,” said Thomas. As the CFO, Thomas will oversee all aspects of Easton Utilities’ financial management in a progressively challenging financial and regulatory environment. Working closely with the CEO and department heads, she will focus on executing the mission statement of Easton Utilities – to enhance the quality of life in our community. Tracie will also maintain oversight of the Accounting, Customer Service, and Billing and Collections operations.

Horner, Jr. is the President and CEO of Easton Utilities! “John’s extensive knowledge in the energy/utility sector, strong business acumen, and exceptional leadership skills made him the ideal choice to lead Easton Utilities into the next chapter,” said W.W. “Buck” Duncan, Chairman of the Easton Utilities Commission. In this role, John will provide strategic leadership for the seven diverse businesses to assure operational excellence and the safe delivery of reliable services with exceptional customer service. He understands the importance of Easton Utilities’ mission “to enhance the quality of life in our community” and will continue to build upon the strong foundations put in place by our predecessors with a solid focus on safety, enhancing reliability, promoting sustainability, improving the customer experience, and of course remaining involved and engaged in this amazing community. John believes in fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity and is committed to creating an environment that encourages everyone’s professional growth and well-being.
