Looking back at one of our favorite summer events—the fifth annual Workday Charity Classic, benefiting Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation! It was an incredible day spent raising funds in support of Oakland youth.
Thanks to the generosity of Workday, Co-Founder Aneel Bhusri, and all who participated, 100% of the event proceeds will provide high-dosage one-on-one tutoring for 10,000 elementary students, ensuring they have the tools to excel in reading. In addition, Eat. Learn. Play. is committing $25 million over the next five years to support Oakland students through literacy programs.
Huge shoutout to everyone who made the day possible including: Stephen Curry, Ayesha Curry, Curry Brand, Under Armour, Callaway Golf, Dryvebox, Domaine Curry, Gentleman's Cut, International Smoke, Rakuten, Nirvana Super, Sweet July, Tacos Sinaloa, Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, Mela Bistro, Michael Mina, Stanford Golf Course, Birdie's at Stanford Golf, Amanda Balionis, Kelley James, and #WDAYAmbassadors: Larry Fitzgerald Jr., Matt Kuchar, Steve Young, Peyton Manning, Brandi Chastain, and Harris Barton.

This past week, Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation celebrated an incredible milestone with our 15th schoolyard transformation at REACH Academy and Cox Academy, moving one step closer to our vision of transforming 25 schoolyards by 2026.
With the invaluable partnership of KABOOM! and Oakland Unified School District, the generous support of Workday, Kaiser Permanente, and countless other dedicated partners, supporters, and volunteers, we are creating safe, inspiring spaces where Oakland kids can play, learn, and thrive.
This work is making a lasting impact:
•Quality play spaces now serve 6,600 students annually, with a goal of reaching 11,250 students annually over the next generation.
•2,700 volunteers have donated over 22,000 hours to bring these spaces to life.
•By 2026, we aim to engage 6,000+ parents, school staff, and Bay Area volunteers.
•Together, we’re on track to create more than 2 billion minutes of active play for kids throughout the lifespan of these vibrant schoolyards.
